All right let’s have a look at the idiom “Si vis pace, para bellum”. As what is, pretty obvious, a Roman principle.
It comes from the Phoenician wars.
The Phoenician wars were a set of wars that really gave Rome its predominance it has today.
The story was that Rome and Karthago were butting heads in the Mediterranean. The Phoenician were controlling the seas of the Mediterranean, and had been for millennia. Rome posed a threat to them, and the family Barca took the war to Rome. Hannibal Barca being the most famous of the Barcas. His war elephants were pretty epic.
Rome was grappling with this impossible threat. Rome couldn’t sail very well, and the Phoenicians brought war to them, relentlessly.
However, through the sheer bravery of Scipio Africanus, Rome finally prevailed. It was through a willful, indomitable spirit of the Romans, that they finally won.
After that, there was peace, more or less.
So the Romans concluded, that you have to be strong, to have peace.
It worked for the many hundred years. You get war, if you are weak, not if you strong.
So the American economy, that fuels the military edge of the US, is the most important. Because the US is strong because of its mix of Roman discipline and viking berserker attitude with its military.
That is the most imposing force on the earth right now.
We can just keep it like that, yet it should never be underestimated.
So essentially, as long as we keep up the economic locomotive of the American industry running, we will be able to keep the peace. Since Israel is so dependent on the US, the ability of the US to keep its engine running is so important.
So peace through strength is a complicated strategy, that rests on the economical basis of America, and keeping the country sound and ready for the fight.
Probably those viking warriors are there for a long time, and as they are still there, they will keep the peace.
Vikings are really not famed for their insistence on peace, but through the wrath of those warriors, we WILL have peace, a paradox in a sense.
But, it seems to me, that the worst is more or less over, the US is back in the lead. Now we just need to help the Brits and the Danes, we are still not in the clear.
G-d bless the will of the Roman spirit, because as is, that is what we are running on.
