Well, I know this comes in a strange way just after the talk about the police and all. And again thank you Americans.
So talk about love; my feeling is, that Axl Rose is a reader here on the blog. I get all these reflections of his on love on my Facebook page, so he may have been reflecting on some of my own musings.
So, just to give another thank you to the Americans. The base of any kind of relationship is loyalty and stability of emotions.
When you are an artist, you can send your spouse to the moon, with poetry and shower them with attention.
Yet, in the long run, to really get to know that chosen sprite of a woman, you need to have a stable life.
You need to get up in the morning, go to work, come home and tuck the kids to sleep.
The combination of your poetic sides with your more conservative side is really the difficult balance to keep.
You need to be that dad that always keep his promises and pick up your kids from school all the time.
If you manage this stability, your poetry may be less intense and fiery, yet it will be constant, honest and in this way you actually get to know that other person that you love and adore.
The soul is deep in anyone’s life. It takes a lot of time, to really get to know that other soul, and it takes discipline and ethics as well.
Especially when you are an artist, and you have all these women or men swarming around you, the ability to focus on just one is a lot more difficult.
But as the German/Jewish philosopher Buber say in his masterwork “ich und du”, the complexity and wonder of a relationship you can have to a woman or the other way around, is so much more profound than just the surface of a person.
True happiness comes from knowing a person that has a beautiful soul, and getting to know that soul, slowly yet with care and respect.
G-d bless the will to find true love.
