When you are the end of your rope, tie a knot and hold on to it. Is supposed to be a proverb of the cowboy president Lyndon B. Johnson.
He must have known, he had a rough life, loosing his wife and his mum at the same time.
So what is the meaning of this, and how will it apply to Israel.
First of all, finding solace and redemption is about staying on your faith and priorities despite the pressure. Tying a knot and holding on to it, is about not changing how you look at things, and just stay the same.
So we have done that. Found unity and stuck together. Yes it has been tough, and the challenges to the unity we have had has been difficult. Yes there has been disagreements, but we have held on to the knot of unity.
So, now when we are nearing the end of the this conflict, then what?
Then we start our normal lives again, but what is important I believe, is the fact that we should try and remember those lessons we learned along the way.
How unity is the prerequisite for a strong community.
There will be disagreement off cause, after all we are Jews, so there will be a plethora of opinions, but it should inscribed in our religious texts, that after the 7 of October we were given unity as a nation to overcome our difficulties. It is a very important point to remember for future generations.
Unity is the combined strength of all of Jews.
G-d bless the will to be united under one banner, the banner of solidarity.
