All right, so we have reached kind of a lull in the fighting. The borders are secure, and the aggression seem to have simmered down.
It is kind of time, to take a check on the development.
First of all, we have, not yet, lost the peace process. The Arab countries seem to be open to the process still, but the price is obvious; they don’t want the Arabs from Gaza on their territory.
This makes it pretty difficult to tackle Hamas, because a ground invasion would force most of the inhabitants of Gaza to flee.
So we are in a kind of double conundrum. At the one hand, we want to get those prisoners out and at the other hand, we don’t want to lose the friendship of the Arab contries.
This leaves us no option, but to do things differently. We need to figure out a way to get our people out, and demilitarise Hamas, without a ground invasion.
But, and this is absolutely paramount. We have to be quick about it.
We need to find those prisoners, and get them out. We leave no one behind.
At the positive side, we can say, that we have found a new unity, that will serve us in the future. We need to learn from this, we cannot be so divided in the future. It makes us too vulnerable.
G-d bless the will to find those kids, who are trapped in Gaza.
