The Iran war

All right, so let’s see if we paint a picture of the current military situation, with an eye to the strengthening of the American/Israeli side.

We are in trouble. That is obvious to anyone. I am not saying this to discourage anyone. But we need to be truthful about the situation to be able figure out what to do.

The alliance with the Arabs is teetering. This holds a lot of danger to the peace process in Gaza and beyond.

Also the Arab states themselves have been hard hit. Bahrain, that has a Sunni Muslim rule and Shia Muslim population is REALLY in danger.

We have the Kurds moving in in the mountains, but that will be only a small part of Iran.

China is fishing in the waters, and may just pick up our Arab allies.

This would put Israel in a hugely disadvantageous position.

Also, there seems to be no movement in the Iranian theatre. We are not getting any support there.

All in all, this is very dangerous.

So what do we do?

We either draw back, call it a day, or try to make a deal.

Our options are very limited.

The Iranians want a promise of non attack deal. That we do not attack them again. That should definitely go both ways.

I mean, Iran have been attacking us for 47 years. If this is to be a peace deal, it has to go both ways.

That leaves the Kurds, whom we have just promised support.

So it’s a conundrum.

What will happen? It depends on the negotiations.

In this department everybody in the Iranian side is pushing for a deal. The Russian, the Chinese.

I don’t know if it’s possible. But that seems to be the most probable outcome. At least this is what everyone wants.

Will this end up being a lasting peace?

If it does, it WILL strengthen the Gaza peace process and make peace in the Middle East.

My heart bleeds for the democratic uprising.

It really does.

But it has to come from the Iranians THEMSELVES. We can support, but we cannot put boots on the ground, because we have really a bad experience with this in Afghanistan and Iraq. Add to this Iran is an impenetrable fortress; mountains and so on.

You HAVE to help.

G-d bless the peace we can find. May the Iranians be free.
