All right, so the Iranian war seems to shift and elevate strains of development, that I never thought possible.
So where are we?
First of all, it seems to me, that the American infantry is less than enthused with the prospect of carrying out ground assault. Which makes sense, since it is, more or less, a potential suicide mission. Soldiers need REALLY good reasons to risk their lives. This makes the Kharg island op less realistic. The American leadership could force the issue, question is, does it make sense?
To answer this, one has to figure out what “sense” really is. We have some political goals, and some economic goals.
The political goal is to liberate the Iranians, something they seem less and less enthused about, because, and that is right, the war is tearing the infrastructure a part. The destruction of the power net is not in the interests of the Iranian people.
The economic goals; that of controlling the oil, also makes ECONOMIC sense, but is it ok, to demand soldiers to risk their lives for this goal?
That is the questions the infantry is asking themselves, and so far, the answer seems to be in the negative.
However, the aviation department are still flying mission after mission, so morale seems high here.
This leaves the American administration with a single choice; will it engage the infantry or not.
This should not be my decision, I am trying to figure out what is going on. The decision is off cause the presidents.
Initiative
Now. There is the question about initiative. The Iranian side have, again, taken the initiative, and totally closed the strait of Hormuz. To up the pressure on the entire world. Right now, it’s essentially Iran against the world. THAT is a very dangerous place to be, but the effect of most revolutions. The same happened in the French and Russian revolutions.
Will they win? Honestly it’s up to the war spirit to decide that.
But I DO know, that G-d supports that part, whom will stand up for the opressed.
This means, that the ETHICAL choices are EXTREMELY important. For BOTH sides.
G-d bless the will of g-d and may he guide us, through this war. To the betterment of man.
