Lebanon

In Israel we REALLY don’t have a lot of trust in anyone.

Over the last 60-70 years, concessions were met with renewed hostility.

UNTIL, the Abraham accords. The Abraham accords, have laid out a viable path to peace with our Arab neighbors, it helps a lot, that my father was a Muslim, and this gives the Arabs a lot of faith that we are not hostile, a hope of stability and a Middle East that will actually hold an international, independent voice.

However, it’s not one size fits all, the proxies; Hezbollah and Hamas, doesn’t have anything out of the Abraham accords, or the peace framework. For them it’s an existential threat. So they will do anything to destroy the emerging peace in the Middle East.

This is very important in relation to Lebanon. We HAVE a very good experience with diplomacy towards the Arab states, including Egypt.

If we can reiterate that succes with Lebanon, and ultimately Iran, there is a very good chance, that we will actually be seen as just another part of the beautiful fabric of the Middle East.

We have always been a part of the Middle East, and have had a good alliance with the Phoenicians before, all evidence talks to the possibility of a renewed alliance.

In this light, TAKING Lebanese territory is not the best strategy. We should treat them with RESPECT, a respect they have earned by having an allegiance in the times of king Solomon.

Off cause we should not just give room for Hezbollah to grow strong again, but RESPECTING the Lebanese has, historically, been a good strategy. It worked for Solomon, it should work for us again.

The Lebanese are the same as they have always been, a people of great integrity, peaceful intentions and skill.

That is definitely an alliance we can build upon.

G-d bless the peace we CAN find. May Israel be the light upon the nations.
