Gott mitt uns

The debate on WILL, has really caught on in the conservative camp. Will in the war in Iran, will in the conservative political renaissance in Great Britain. So I guess it’s a good idea to figure out what is really going on.

Freuds personality model is based on Schopenhauers thinking, so it’s a good starting point.

WIIL is the same as the ID, ego is rationality and superego moral or principles.

Actually Schopenhauers debate on the issue is much more advanced and complex, debating Plato’s discussion on ideals. Really interesting for the geeks.

Anyway, the basic question is; how do we IMPROVE our will. We do it by focusing on it off cause. But also realizing, that the will is dependent on the rationality and moral. Good moral strong will, bad moral weak will.

Cheaters and lyers have weak will, while as honest men, have strong will.

Also morale is dependent on the system that its rests in. In Democray there is will dependent on freedom, in monarchies the will is more dependent ethics and law.

Behind this is the spiritual dimension, which is something Schopenhauer mentions.

As Hegel say; Gott Mitt uns.

Our will is dependent on G-d. We do not have 100 % free will. At least not if we are believers.

G-d guides us and uses us to his purposes.

So our will, if it is to be strong, rests of faith, morale and duty.

Principles in other words.

G-d bless the will of spirit, may we serve the lord in his plans.
