All right, concerning the Gaza development, this is my read of the situation.
First of all, we are not the only one who are negotiating with Hamas. Everybody does as well. So we have to see the final goal, as a collaborative effort of all the players involved. Russia is involved, must important the Arab states are involved. To make sure, that we play the game to our advantage, we need to make a conclusion that is balanced to all who are part of it.
Hamas has promised to step down from power at the second phase of the negotiations. This they have promised Russia and the Arab states. The prize we pay is a two state solution. The prize we win, is recognition by the partners of the deal. That is Russia and the Arab States.
This will ensure, that Israel is situated in a viable and secure position in the Middle East.
From there we can rebuild our relationships to the world and be a serious player in the Middle East.
I know that it is not what we want, yet we have to see the long term consequences of the deal. It will bring us closer to peace and a relative stability.
