It is very easy to put your fingers out, and judge other people. The thing is; we rarely really know what g-d truly wants. Being honest, ready to do what g-d wants, and be in his service is very difficult.
Most often, mainstream will be fake and dishonest, shallow and mean.
Being ethical in such a situation is not easy. I mean, with all respect for my own Jewish faith, look at Jesus, he actually chose the right way instead of what was generally accepted. He wanted to overthrow the Romans, but the old guard wanted peace and stability. A very Jewish history. My own, in the sense, that trying to find what is right in a poisonous and often polarized debate.
But to be honest, it comes down to UNDERSTANDING the motives of G-d. He wants us to protect the weak.
Often this is “against the system”, who have alternative ideas about who the weak is.
However, we can, if we are honest, find that path.
G-d bless the will of the creator, may we have peace.
