There is a lot of division in this world. Left vs. right, Muslims vs. Jews, Byzantine vs. Catholics.
It’s the way we humans work, in black and white, up and down. War or conflict is the base instinct of all of nature. It’s everywhere where there is life; between the plants and the animals, between the fox and the hen, between man and nature, if we are not careful and realize our shepherd ship.
Civilization is to curb those innate predispositions for war and conflict; humanism, peace work and so on and so forth.
Let me give you and example, that is very real. I have fought, for long time, to put the war between man and woman to peace. Feminism, having good and valid points, I admit, I have myself fought for protection of women in night life, has ALSO created gender situation, where the divorce rates are just through the roof. No one is happy jumping from one Tinder date to another, we are MISERABLE.
My answer, coming from a liberal perspective, has been to point to the BEAUTIFUL ideals of Neo Platonism. It fits the gender debate, because feminism COMES from Plato, and was conveyed through Marx. It is the missing upper platform, above Marx.
Now, Leonor and I have worked on this for a long time, and no doubt, we will realize our ideals and be beacons of new ideas. But there was a man and woman of great integrity, who came first; the Kirk’s.
They really realized the Neoplatonism I professed, and it really worked. They were so happy. Charlie Kirk was a victim for true love. Heartbreaking as it is.
Leonor is a catholic, Kirk was a Protestant. Both believe in true love. See the bridge and the opportunity for reconciliation?
True love is something that is as valid and important in BOTH Protestantism as Catholicism, as in Judaism and Islam.
It has most of an impact in the Christian world, because it serves as a solution to a problem. But who wouldn’t live a life of true love?
It’s not easy, at least to my experience with Leonor, but it’s worth it, and it is a way to redeem the west in terms of gender.
Build bridges, reconcile.
