All right, so this phase of Israeli history is coming to an end. The current Netanyahu government is soon to be replaced with someone else. Maybe with with Netanyahu at the front, maybe not. We will see.
But the current constellation is soon to be changed.
So, then what.
I truly believe, that we won. Netanyahu is right to declare victory. We bested all our adversaries and have never been stronger.
But then what?
When you fight, sometimes the fight becomes the point. You often see it with veterans. They came home, but mentally they can’t come home. Like Vietnam veterans who went to the woods to keep their vigilance.
War changes people.
I have seen it many times in my work as a social worker. People who have lost their children to the municipality, they fight to their death.
It’s heartbreaking, and my job is to support them.
But sometimes, when they win, and get more time with their children or even get them back. They get really happy.
That is a skill as well, to celebrate your wins and come home from war.
I am CERTAINLY not saying, that we should lower our guards. What I am saying is; sometimes it’s ok, to celebrate our wins.
G-d bless the victory of Israel.
