I have given the idea about repatriating the Gazan Arabs some more thought. As it stands, it is not easy.
The Gazans are too far into the whole hostage exchange process, that had the aim as to make a Palestinian state. So the timing is off.
If we had done it in the beginning of the war, the casualties would have been less, and it could have been argued for with that argument.
Also, the Saudis are not backing the idea anymore.
Which means, that we have to see if we can make this current process work.
What I recommend is therefore to accept the current process, yet add. That if Gaza is reigniting the hostilities, we will do it.
So, that the option is still on the table, as a second option.
It’s tough, but we need peace.
