Let’s see if we can disentangle the debate around Israel and Gaza.

The accusations are, that the Israel Defense Force, fighting Hamas is equivalent to Nazi germany doing a Holocaust.

Now, that is, by all means, totally flawed. First of all, the Holocaust was a RACIST genocide, targeting CIVILIANS. In Gaza, there has been civilian casualties, but the aim of the operation has been to eradicate Hamas.

Also, it’s a WAR, started by Hamas, with an invasion, where horrible actions were done to CIVILIANS.

These nuances actually MEAN something.

Now, it doesn’t mean that the invasion was clean, and I was, from the beginning, calling for repatriation. The same principle, that is behind the EU principle, just coined a month ago, as well as the border control in the US.

That would have solved the conflict, peacefully. The Arabs were even in on it. But it didn’t work, due to different things.

Now, there IS a wide bufferzone between Israel and the Gazan population. This will not remove all conflicts, but certainly make it much more difficult for the Gazans to attack Israel. As long as tunnels are kept under control, by digging along the fence, it will be very difficult to make a 7’th October style attack.

So, the accusation is not right.

What is right, and what we need to listen to, is the American situation. Dragging Americans into this war can only be done with respect to AMERICAN interests as well.

But if the American influencers have any ideas how to cut this gordic knot, other than my idea, I am, seriously, all ears.
