Knesset

The tour at the old Knesset I did yesterday, was just such a blast, not by coincidence. Hashem is using me, to strengthen Israeli society.

This is my conclusion after that blast of a tour yesterday.

What I do want to do, or offer the Knesset, is a new constitution.

It seems to have been postponed since the inception of Israel, and the Knesset is working quite fine as is.

But a good constitution is very important in the long run. It coins the PRINCIPLES of the society.

There are mainly two areas I hope to be able to make a contribution. That of ideals of democracy itself, the “we the people” section. It essentially comes from the French Revolution, but it carries some much older ideals all the way back the Hellenic civilization; Socrates, Aristotle and Plato.

It’s about the freedom of the people.

At the other hand, lawmaking also carries its ideals; that the law is there to protect the weak, is a very important principle, that is often forgotten in the formulation of the law. It comes all the way back to Babylon and the founding king Hammurabi. This is a debate in the Talmud, that is a set of texts made in Babylon.

So there are some really interesting, and perhaps INSPIRING ideas and principles a constitution could coin.

I am coming to the Knesset on Sunday, on a visitors tour. I bring recording equipment, so if there are anyone who wants to have an interview, in around half an hour, you are more than welcome. It’s an opportunity to present the program that you go to election on.

I will publish it here on the blog. It’s totally safe, you have an opportunity to check the interview before I publish it.

G-d bless the strengthening of Israeli democracy. May it be forever.
