Know your enemy

This is my take on the war in Iran.

The last time I was there, I won with Obama. How? By outfoxing Ahmadinejad.

We went toe to toe, he was controlling all the forces of Iran, and I came out on top. I was simply a better commander.

This is how wars are won; strategy, knowing the different weapon types, resilience in the face of adversity and just knowing your enemy.

Sun Tzu, the Chinese strategist, is famous for a lot of his insight into war. His prime maxim, is to; know your enemy. In other words, know their psychological make up, weapons array, soft points and so on.

Most important to warfare is probably terrain. Fighting in mountains for instance is extremely difficult. That is why Scotsmen, Afghani and Persians are so good fighters, they come from a mountainous area.

Alexander the Great beat the Persians with numbers not on his side. He did it by superior strategy.

The same with the 300 Spartan hoplites at the battle of Thermopylae. Superior skill, strategy and innovative tactics.

Philosopher kings are unbeatable, because the ability to analyze a vast mass of data, combined with creativity is the way to beat a foe.

Be the David, not the Goliath. That is how wars are won.

Now g-d seems to want peace and is dragging me in the other direction.

So I am not talking about an all out war, what I am talking about is forgetting about our superior technological capabilities and start figuring out how to outsmart the brilliant strategists of Iran. Because we would lie to ourselves, if we couldn’t see their brilliance and as Sun Tzu has said himself; know your enemy.

G-d bless the peace we will ultimately find, may Israel prevail.
