One of the things, that is beneath the idea of a royal house, is the idea of honour.
Honour is a thing, that most conservatives are really trying to understand for their own family, and for themselves, especially within the military orders of different kind.
But what is it really? And how does it work.
To understand this, we need to go back in time, and have a look at the very roots of our culture and civilisation.
The roots, or rather one of the deepest roots of our culture is the Hellenic civilisation. Here great heroes of the past used to roam the sapphire blue waters of the Mediterranean. Giving us heroes as Odysseus. Seafarers of great renown and grit.
These ancient kings and valiant men put up cities as Sparta and Athens.
Cities that still ring down the line of historical political ideas. Athens made Democacy and Sparta was the ideal of Socialism.
But they were men at that time, great strong heroes, and they had what we today would call honour.
How did that work for them. Honour were a set of principles, that not only gave the ancients an idea as to how to behave, but also gave not only the king a higher perception but added to the perception of his house or as we call it in danish his “Slaegt”. The idea, that the family is a story of members who each add to the house of the family, giving either good reputation or bad reputation.
Like my slaegt, the Engbergs and the Triers. The Engbergs are renowned for a high measure of ethics, being stalwart defenders of truth and honesty within the judicial system and within the historical area. So my daunting task has been to add to my slaegt, and add some beauty and respect to my line. The Trier slaegt is renowned for a wide contributions to the Danish culture, things as the andelsbevaegelse, the rise of socialism, and a lot of artist. Lars Von Trier has made a bit of a name for him in film.
So each generation adds to the renown and respect to the family name.
That is how honour works, and why it is so extremely important for each generation to add a positive addition to the family name.
It has consequences to the next generation, if you leave your family with a better name, it will prosper, and it will be a good thing for your kids and grandkids. If you leave your life’s work with a worse name to the family, it will again have consequences for the next generation.
This is the key to understanding how the British monarchy may prosper, by building on the previous generations, and setting goals as to how it will prosper by building honour for its house.
G-d bless the will of the British king, and may he prosper. G-d bless good virtue of the realm.
