Ok, the war in Gaza/Lebanon has reached a point, where the aims of Israel is shifting, yet the aims of the Hamas/Hezbollah alliance seems to be reaching a state where the aims are not clear.
What is it, that Hamas/Hezbollah want to accomplish?
The potential alliance with the Arab kingdoms has stabilized after Israel focuses on Hezbollah and not Hamas. The reason is quite clear; Saudi Arabia is in war with the Houthis, and Hezbollah is quite closely allied with the Houthis, so a war with Hezbollah is actually really not a problem for Saudi Arabia.
It does not bring peace, yet the alienation between Israel and the Arab kingdoms have come to a stop, and is slowly gaining ground again.
Yet, not for peace but to confront the whole of the Middle East against Iran.
Is this a development that Iran is keen on?
One thing is a localized war in Yemen, yet a whole regional war against them? Judged on how things are going in Lebanon, it will be a tough war.
So, maybe, dialing down the confrontation is a possible path?
It is about getting those hostages home, and then make peace.
G-d bless the will to make peace in the Middle East. May we all prevail.
