After doing the interview with mr. Hilton, my friend, Basil brought up the issue of funding the renaissance.
I have discussed it with myself some, and my thinking is, that me as a philosopher, I have to stay uncorrupted. I have to try and make my own living. And I do, I help the poor from funds accrued by the poor themselves, sacrifices that makes it possible for the poor in their suffering, to get a voice. That is true, uncorrupted enlightenment right there.
This is the way it is supposed to be.
At the other hand, the bankers are, traditionally, the funders of the renaissances. The works of art are unparalleled in the other renaissances.
I mean, just imagine, if I could focus on philosophy, the works of art I produce. It could spell perhaps a renewal in areas we have not thought about, not least art.
So its a paradox, but seriously, all this online facebook things you are trying to build, it is a little difficult. It is much more easy, if you just make a direct contact. That is how all the other players are doing it. They invite me to something, I get some friends within the community, and the dialogue is going on.
So, at the heart of it, it is about this shared work. The potential is pretty vast. I mean, we could make a school, where the fine arts and philosophy really was disseminated. We could strengthen Israel, we could make works of art at the same level as in the other renaissances maybe.
Just imagine the possibilities.
But it has to be sound and honest, and I have to be independent of the money.
G-d bless the will to spread the light of truth.
