Listen Joe, getting things through congress is a fight, it has always been like that, and it will always be like that.
WWBD, what would Bill do. You know what he would do, he would get on his stallion, and fight his way down the valley, drawing his six-shooters for another day.
Point being, that adversity, things not going your way is just the way politics is.
I remember when we had the fight with Boehner, he didn’t want Barack to succeed. Not because his ideas were right or wrong, just because poor Barack had the wrong color in his skin. At that time, I advised Barack to go in, and try to make that compromise. Barack couldnt make it, it was not until Boehner got kicked out of congress screaming and yelling we started to make a little progress.
Now, you don’t seem to rub people the wrong way like I do. People always pick a fight with me, even though I try to be nice. But its just the way things are for me, like Bill. He seemed to provoke people somehow.
Anyway, learn from our lifes. You need to get up, saddle the stallion, and take another round in the fight. Ask this Manchin what he CAN approve of the parts of the build back better plan. He must be able to say yes to some of it, and take it from there. He has the right to disagree, but he is probably not in disagreement with the entire plan. So try and find the parts you agree upon. Ask Barack how he overcame Boehner. That was a vicious fight, but we made it, and we can make it again. Just have faith Joe, everything will work, do what you can to take another round in the political fight.
G-d bless the will to be strong in adversity and honest in how you do things. G-d bless the United States of America.
