Ok Joe, I have been reflecting a lot on the current situation. To be honest, we are loosing, why? Becuase we lost the war in Afghanistan.
I know it is a hard point, I know, it was all done in the best intentions, and it was good to get the soldiers back. But Americans hate one thing more than any, they hate to lose.
So, in the realization of this, hard though it may be, it also gives us a fighting chance to win back the loyalty and admiration of the American people. Because what we need to do, is to win.
But how do we do that?
At the core of what the United States of America is, it is the product of Anglo Saxon culture; universities, ruling system and so, and the French revolution.
So it is the tip of the spear of Western civilisation. The most idealistic, the most hardnosed, the most flamboyant.
This is not to say, that we cannot help minorities, we should, but to win the next election, we need to understand how Americans think, and what they want out of a president.
They want the president to win, and they want the American colors to shine.
In a world, where war is difficult, and often not the best option. Then how do we shine the colors of Democracy, rule of law, humanism?
Well, there is actually one project that is pretty easy to ramp up, the Mars mission. As long as it is a frontier project, it will provide a symbolic project to shine the colours of Western civilization.
And from there on, it is really easy to win. You and we just need to figure out a way to make the Democratic cause shine.
That is what the American people want, and that was why they elected Trump.
It is not a bad thing for Democracy to win, it is a good thing.
Taking up the depeche, the beacon, is what the American people want a president to do. The president that carries the eternal light, is the champion of the people.
It has always been like that, and it will always be like that. Because that is the American way.
The beauty of it all is, that everybody around the world agrees. The virtues and values of the American revolution are universal, so it will unite people around the world.
But be careful who you chose as advesaries, they have to be the opposite, as the islamic state was. They were the opposite.
G-d bless the will to follow the lights of the American Revolution.
Well, as Tolstoi the great Russian thinker said; all good families are alike, all bad families are different.
The point is, goodness is one, badness comes in all forms and shapes.
That is something to ponder there. Goodness makes for a very stable, similar and uniform world.
The lore of the ancients are pretty straight forward, if you follow the system of the republic combined with a sound religion, the chances are, you will find happiness.
If you do other things, like chaotic strains of thought that is in this world right now, chances are that you will find chaos and destruction.
This is not 100% true, there are off cause variations, different religions with different systems, but at the core good people are pretty much alike.
They are true, honest, compassionate, pure. Good family men, supporting the community.
In a way pretty boring, if you see it from outside. But from inside, it is happiness, thanksgiving, Hannukah, christmas, and a supportive bunch of old and young people around you.
Yes, it can be terribly constricting for some, and many people dislike the narrow path of truth and good, but that is the way good works.
So, my point is, unity as we have talked so much about is pretty simple, it is just going down that church or religious road, marry your highschool girlfriend, make a family, find a job and see the kids grow up. Eventually you become a grandparent and you will see your kids kids come to you, and you will care for them.
Seeing it from the perspective of the kids, what do the kids need? They need two self-sacrificing parents to nurture them and care for them. That is pretty boring and hard, but that is what it takes to be a good person. To shed your own needs in the face of little peoples needs.
Romance is self-sacrifice, it is not easy. But that is the way of the world.
Unity calls for good people to make good families, all alike yes, but a happy little community to raise your children in. This is the same, wherever you are, in all cultures, it is universal.
So, let us be a little boring, and simple for a change.
G-d bless the will to be good and simple in a world of chaos.
One of the things that I believe is lost in time is the humanist tradition of Europe.
I am a humanist, my family have been humanists for seven generations, and there are traces left here and there in Denmark of humanists.
But the environment or tradition is largely pushed away by neomarxistthinking, business ideas and so on.
In between all the other strains of thought, there is still remain a small percentage of intellectuals dedicated to humanism.
I see my ideas as reflected in the ideas of Erasmus; humanistic dialectics. To be true to find what it is to be human.
Why has it come to this? Now mainstream universities are filled with safe spaces, unfit for the garrulous truth seekers. Plato is but forgotten in most academia, and the search for light, that was the very idea at the garden dedicated to the greek hero Academus is nothing of importance today. The IDEALISM of academia has all but died.
Finding a way to be human, and dedicating ones life to that pursuit is almost unattainable these days.
Integrity and honesty is of little worth, while as academics strive for political aim instead of thinking about the betterment of man.
Humanism is all but forgotten. But yet, there is a few light here and there, pockets of integrity and honesty not yet fallen to the consummation of the superficial.
Maybe therein lie our salvation, in the renaissance of the antiques? In the dedication to the principles of Socrates. To put ourselves out in the light among philosophers and not stay in the cave with all the angry people of world.
People are so angry and mean these days, they seek to control and not set free.
Maybe it is about time we remember what humanism is, and seek to be honest with each other, and conquer our own fears and imperfections. Be just ourselves, simple yet spiritual.
These are the things I think about when I read about the flemish renaissance, where there were a system of philosophers and thinkers supporting each other.
Why is this world but forgotten?
We as human beings are wrought with imperfections, but we are yet human beings, and support of our fellow men are what defines us as human.
G-d bless the will to still each other as human beings.
Well, the climate change meeting is over, and I think we can already see the framework of something that might actually work.
First of all, the fossile free plan is pretty awesome. Can we make a world that is run on clean energy?
The question off cause still remain unanswered, but the path to such a world is paved with the intention, that it should be so.
But, and this where I believe, that there is a very important point. Reseach and development is an innovative force, you cannot control it directly. What you can do however, is to make a framework around the process that will spur the scientist in that direction. Make a public fund for innovation, pick the winners.
The next step however is very dependent on the governments. The implementation of the green energies needs investment in infrastructure. Take the Tesla, why is it such a sucess, because mr. Musk didnt really make a better car, than what had been made before. Ok the Tesla is an impressive piece of machinery, but the REAL innovation was the infrastructure he built around the car. You can always charge a Tesla whereever you are, quickly and efficiently.
The same goes for all the other inventions, it needs to meet the market, and it needs to get implemented.
What wins the race for a better and cleaner world, still remains to be seen. Power to x is a strong contender to electric cars. With power to x you can actually use the existing cars we already use.
So, that is a strong argument in that direction. Here in Denmark, we are leading in power to x, so we of cause put some of our chips in that hat.
Anyway, there is a phase now of innovation, and there will be a phase of implementation.
These two phases will intermingle, and some technologies will win. Think about the proliferation of the betamax video tapes up against VHS tapes. The betamax was a better technology, but the implementation of the VHS system was more efficient, so the VHS won.
These are some of the dynamics we need to be watching out for.
G-d bless the will to be open and supportive in the development of green tech.
When we talk identity politics and the ideas, that rule in many areas of academia, I belive we should discuss the alternative.
I mean, if identity politics does not work, as it does not, then what is the alternative.
These days I am reading the 16´th century academic; Erasmus. His work is REALLY interesting in the fact that he was the leading light in one of the former revolutions of communication.
He, more or less, presided over the proliferation of books.
In his life books went from being handwritten in monasteries to be printed in workshops with new amazing machinery.
It created a revolution in communication, just as we are witnessing today. Many of the ideas that Erasmus put forth are really inspiring, and his METHODS are awe-inspiring as well.
I mean, what happens if the society goes from almost complete illiteracy to a massive information wave created by cheap books?
What are the ideals that is perpetrated by this revolution, and how did it effect the societies we are living in.
One of the basic points of Erasmus was his INTEGRITY. He worked, selflessly, brilliantly for truth, ethics and good in this world.
He did not make a lot of money, but was a true illuminator.
In other words, as with the internet revolution, the beginning of book printing created a vibe of humanism and truth seeking of the finest kind.
This only lasted his generation, and after that we are still just living in his shadow.
The same is true about the advent of the internet, this gave the public a rare insight into true humanism, but the system became a threat to public discourse, and the power control is rapidly put at work.
This is what will happen in a situation, where media changes fundamentally.
What we can do however, learning from Erasmus, who has become the founding father of Europe, is to be a little more easy on the control.
Of cause we should not let things go crazy, but this is how things pan out in a situation where knowledge and wisdom becomes at the tip of everyone’s fingertip.
Maybe it is good to take a step back, and take a bit easy. We will get trough this, and my great ideal Erasmus made a better, less corrupt world where truth and integrity was at the heart of his project. The same is what we should do today, especially academically.
G-d bless the will to be true and honest in the flow of ideas.
Politics is a craft. You need to get people around the table, and create solutions, that all can see themselves in.
Doing that, is extremely difficult. When Barack, Joe and I developed a lot of the driving ideas of Baracks presidentship, we actually solved a lot of the problems we faced. Economically we made the Smithsonian idea of patriotic production, and in terms of war we made a grand alliance behind our war against Islamic State.
But what is it, that is the driving force behind true successes like that. It is depth of understanding, and then it is quality of practical implementation.
It works.
But to get to that point of quality, you need to understand the rights and wrongs of our world today and the theory behind the ideas we wrestle with.
So, as in all other things here in life, the car you drive in can be poor quality or good quality. If it is good quality, you can rely on it, and it will keep you safe in your travels.
If it is of a poor quality, it will break down, and stop in the middle of nowhere.
Right now people are disillusioned with identity politics and fringe left ideas. I think the notion is, that if we all just step into the middle of politics, then we are ok.
That is wrong, the reason why identity politics does not work, is not because it is fringe, it is because it is of a poor quality.
My ideas used to be fringe, now the rule most of the world, why? Because they will keep you driving, as a politician, the extra mile, keep you safe in the awfully destructive world of politics.
We shouldn’t just stabilize on the middle, no, we should keep driving, find new ways of the world. Think about the quality of the world we build.
We want to build good solid houses. Make a good foundation, that future generations can build upon. Make something, that we can be proud of.
Put those brilliant and emblazoned words upon the things we build, and make last, as it is MADE IN AMERICA.
G-d bless the will to find truth in what we do, and make it last.
It seems to me, that the world is centering around a climate change idea.
It is good in the sense, that it unites the world.
I know, that many people have doubts about the wisdom of climate change. But if we understand the agenda in a positive and constructive manner. We can actually do some good to the world.
And, honestly, in many places around the world, pollution and destruction of nature is a problem.
How and why is the issue. Here my advise would be, to focus on the best technologies and methods out there, and then really work on dialogue.
UNDERSTANDING each other be it left or right, is paramount in this development.
We can actually reach across the aisle, and be friends.
The climate change discussions are essentially a profound discussion on the wealthfare of the world.
How are we going to prioritize the development of the shared ressources.
To understand how this can be done, I truly believe, that we need to UNDERSTAND the ways of the world.
Essentially the world is bounced between order and chaos or, as other call it conservatism and freedom.
Understanding the right decisions in the situation, whether to be conservative or liberal is really the crux of the matter.
One of the major discussions we have had lately is the migration waves that are hitting the shores of Europe. To a staunch liberal perspective, the freedom of migration is paramount. To conservatives the order of the nations is paramount. Finding a balance between these two perspectives is important.
Why, otherwise the states become unhappy and often destabilized.
I know, then we liberals say, don´t build the wall and all that. But the conservatives do have a point in pointing to the fact, that the migration is destabilizing the countries they affect.
Instead of refusing to see this basic fact, we liberals should acknowledge, that there is a problem with migration.
This will hopefully defuse the political conflicts that are building in the major countries in Europe; France and the UK.
Let them have their walls, as long as the true aims of their endevours are positive and focuses on the integrity of the states, the law and the peace of the populace.
We need to understand and recognize, that maybe a little order is important also. The horrendous murders of artists and journalists is a problem. My good friend Lars Vilks has just been murdered, because he stood up for Democracy and free speech.
We need to protect the artists and journalists who defend humanism.
That freedom is more important than freedom of movement, that is the basic argument.
Anyway, let us try to understand each other, and create a better world, instead of just banging our own drum all the time.
Be open, and understanding of our opponents, work across the aisles and make peace.
G-d bless the will to listen to our fellow men. G-d bless the will to find peace.
Ok, so there is a major summit on climate change coming up, and these are the experiences that I have from Denmark, that the world can use.
First of all, there are essentially two categories to work on. The first is nature, and the second is renewable energy.
Often these two categories tend to get mixed, and you get a less than desireable result.
Take the discussion on the reduction of CO2 gasses. This is a problem due to excessive use of fossile fuel, and not really a problem due to food production, here other issues are important.
So we need to reduce the CO2 emission by reducing the consumption of fossile fuel, not by reducing food production.
FOOD PRODUCTION
My experience with this agenda is riddled with a lot af drama. First our current PM tried the hard way, resulting in mass demonstrations and awful, terrible destinies for the involved minkproducers.
This has almost toppled her government, and these days she is fighting for her life in politics.
So learning from this mistake, the next phase was much more positive. Here she really worked on dialogue, reaching out to the farmers, crafting a solution across the aisle. Perfectly executed, and really good work.
So, this is how it should be done, through dialogue and understanding. We need to talk about it, and find solutions across the aisle.
What has materialized out the long, long negotionations is a plan to DEVELOP the farming industri in a more green direction, using new technical systems and tools. There are many under development.
The same goes for the fishing industry, that is trying to find a constructice way out of the conundrum of climate change discussion.
We need to really respect the farmers and the fishermen, they are hardworking, industrious, nature loving people.
So by RESPECTING these people, we can get somewhere.
RENEWABLE ENERGY
So, the next issue that is really interesting is renewable energy. Here creativity and new ideas are really the way forward. We have so many good ideas in the industry, power to x, thorium energy, windmills, solar panels, energy produced out of farming waste and so on. We have hyperloop, electric cars and many other new tech.
As any other business field, because essentially it is just business, though ethical business, trial and error must rule, and the best ideas must win.
Make it a free thinking environment of technical developement, and we will have some interesting new ideas to rule the day.
But again RESPECT the new ideas, by giving them recognition. Make a Nobel price for the best green idea, cover the new items in the news and so on. Be respectful and positive, and then pick the winners.
G-d bless the will to find new ways for climate change.
So, one of the things, that I have wondered a bit about, is the fact that, I never get any enemies really. And the enemies, that I try to pick, get really sad about it, and try to get to be friends again. At least internationally, not really here in Denmark.
But, I have wondered quite a bit about it, and reading the book Sefer Yetzirah, a jewish book on ethics, it really comes into focus.
According to this book, wisdom and unity is linked.
That is why my ideas always seem to get people together, because in all humility, I am wise.
So, when we talk about unity, this is the tool that can bring unity in the world; wisdom. True wisdom.
That is the fate of Israel, to bring wisdom to the world, and thereby unite the world in peace.
I have been thinking a lot about the late interview with the Suidlanders. It is a REALLY difficult discussion.
On one side, I do not accept any kind of racism against blacks. I know how it is to be scorned and ridiculed. Right now in my town Aalborg, there is a lot of bad blood running in the gutters, and it is running in my direction.
At the other hand, white people, or just people from the north are also just people. So, we need to take this into consideration.
Things can go both ways, and it is when we end up in being inhumane, on both sides, that I really believe, that humanism is not allowed.
Being humane, is what it is about, in both directions. We need to be able to see our fellowmen as men and women, not just a skin.
I mean, how do you put ethics into skin?
Being true to unity as a vibe that goes beyond skin, is what is important. That black and white, yellow and brown are able to live side by side.
Being honest and humane to each other.
G-d bless the will to be a good man, in a situation, where the bad blood is running. Being honest, humble and humane to all. G-d bless the will to be serious and strong in the conviction that we are all made in the image of spirit.
The Suidlanders is a civil rights organisation of South Africa, demanding justice and rights to be reinstalled to white people of South Africa.
I have had a conversation with Mr. Roche who is a leading spokesperson for the organisation. To hear him speak is like a window into another reality, living in a system where the government is essentially breaking down.
I know, that this is difficult to talk about, but we need to talk about it, due to the severity of the situation in South Africa.
Please listen, and consider supporting Suidlanders.
G-d bless the will to be honest in a difficult situation.
These days South Africa is in turmoil, and the rainbow nation, that everybody hoped to make, is deteoriating.
For me, as a spiritual person, this makes me sad.
Now, dont get me wrong, sacrifice, injustice is what it is. It has no color.
I was a great fan of the whole process of antiapartheid, Desmond Tutu, Nelson Mandela. The forces they opposed were horrible. I can reflect my own fight in theirs. Civil rights, Democracy, humanism.
But these days the white people of South Africa are in danger, just as the blacks were under apartheid. I know that that is a controversial thing, and people dont like to talk too much about it. But suffering and hardship does not have a color.
One of the leaders of the South African white civil rights organizations have reached out to me, to relay their plight.
I will do that. As I have seen on the internet and through social media, the whites are the ones that suffers these days.
One wrong, does not make another wrong right.
So if white people are suffering, they should be protected, just as black people.
I am brown, so this has nothing to do with color, but with minority protection.
I know that this is controversial, but this is not about being popular, but about people suffering. If I can help these people, the Suidlanders, I will.
So, I have accepted the invitation to do an interview, and will make it tomorrow.
I hope you see my intentions as clean and honourable.
I do not accept Apartheid in any way, but minorities are minorities black or white. If it was the black under the thumb of the opressors, I would root for them.
G-d bless the wisdom and honesty of a cause. G-d bless the will to be humane in a hostile world.
When you loose some in your life, as I have just done due to a divorce, you need to be careful what you do. All of a sudden you have new responsibilities, but also new freedoms.
I am conservative, and I am a family loving type of person. I adore my kids, and would do anything for them.
I know, that sometimes this goes contrary to my international career. I would like to be an international star, travelling around in the world, being famous and all that.
But at the end of the day, leaving my kids because of my career, is not an option. When your exspouse wants to “break the glassloft” and have a career, then you have to ask yourself, if you want to go down that road, or stay with the kids.
To be absolutely honest, if a career means leaving my kids at the mercy of the ins and out of daycare, then the career is just not worth it.
This is my choice, I choose my kids over my career.
I know, that it hinders a lot of the work I am supposed to do, with international politics, and supporting the international community, and I will, to the best of my ability, free of charge.
So that is my choice, I will always pick my kids over my own ambition, because that is what a father is supposed to do.
See?
Choosing love in the near relationship over your own ambition is the right thing to do. I mean, how are those little creatures supposed to survive in a difficult world, if it was not for their fathers to sacrifice themselves for them?
That is love, sacrifice for those you carry in your hands.
G-d bless the will to shed your own ambition to help and serve.
Ok, we are in trouble. Radical islam is rising in the West. One of my very good friends mr. Lars Vilks was just assasinated, most probably, and the attacks are in legion these days.
Lately the attack on the British MP Sir David Amess, is another attack in a string of attacks.
The enemy is within the gates, and they are getting bold.
One of the main things that is pretty evident, is the fact, that the police is not up to the job. In Norway, where the killing spree was pretty fast and devasting, it was mainly because the police was not up to the job. Lars Vilks was killed sitting in a police car, and so on and so forth.
This points to the fact, that we need to do some refinement and upgrading of the police force.
I dont know about all of Europe, in fact in France they seem to be on the ball. They have installed the valiant republican troops to protect democracy.
This brings more security, and it kind of puts the conflict out in the open.
This is the next step, here France is leading the way.
We need to follow the example of France, and shift focus from a police lead security operation, to a military lead operation.
The military deals with war, fighting the Al-Qeada, the islamic state and so on, in war.
So we need to apply the adequate tools to solve the problem.
It could be implemented in all of Europe, and go hand in hand with the new ambitions of a shared fighting force, if that is a priority.
At the same time, we need to understand, that if we veer to much to the fringes of politics, as we have been doing lately, things start to unravel.
The fringes are idealistic and want to change things in a fast manner, the center listens to the fringes, but change things slowly and in a controlled manner.
This is how politics is supposed to be. Be careful not to go to fast.
The whole debacle with China is also warming up, so we are seeing a two front war these days, and that is difficult to fight.
But we are having new friends, India is really warming up to Denmark, and thank you for that, we will be friends.
Anyway, we need to shift security focus from police to military, and let the generals do what they do best; protect the nations of the West.
G-d bless the will to be protective of the citizens.
Understanding ethics, or moral virtue, you need to see your life in the glow of spirituality.
One of the most splendid or indeed wonderful roots of ethics is the root of Phoenicia.
Phoenicia being an ancient culture of commerce, learning and spirituality.
When we jews erected the first temple of Israel, we were helped doing so, by the Phoenicians.
My point is, perhaps not only did the Phoenicians help us in a physical way, building the temple, but also gave us some of their wisdom.
The tree of Kabbalah has a pretty obvious reflection in the first temple by the two columns at the front of the temple, reflecting the two columns of the tree of life, which is a core ethical system of judaism.
So in order to understand the depth of the cabbalistic tree, we need to see it reflected in the phoenician world. They invented the tree, probably, as they inveted the very system I write with, the alfabet, they invented and commerce.
How were the Phoenicians? They were so peaceful. Their world was a world without any fighters, just walls to keep out the invaders.
This peaceful way of life, is the aim of judaism, if the kabbalistic tree is the foundation on which we build.
Remember, peace. But not a naive or uneducated peace. A peace that actually do work, as it did for millenia for the Phoenicians. A beautiful, lasting and wonderful peace, with abundance and happiness.
G-d bless the will to understand a way to find peace in this world.
When we talk about light opposed to darkness, us being humanists, what is the “light” we talk about. “The shining light at the top of the hill”?.
To understand this, we need to go to the root of the understanding. The root of the understanding is the Egyptian lore of the ancients.
These illustrious people who lived thousands and thousands of years ago lived with a plethora of spirits, g-ds and creeds.
The main ideology of the classical Egyptian kingdom was the temple of Amun Ra, the g-d of light and the sun.
That islam, christianity and judaism is essentially a light religion is still recognized in the fact that we end all prayers with the calling of Ra, we just say Amen, that is Amun, originally. Remember Moses was an egyptian prince, and he installed the Egyptian sun worship in the jewish religion that then became christianity and islam as well.
So when we say “Amen” what we do essentially is to recognize Amun-Ra.
So what was he, this sun g-d? He was the fierce g-d og vitality, joy and life.
The sunlight brings life. The illustrious g-d was g-d for positive energy.
Opposed to him was the death of darkness. The lethargic life, no vibrancy, a static society of corruption.
That is what light is, it is life. Humanism is then a creed of life, something we can celebrate in climate initiatives, but we should also remember, that WE as people should be alive, well and happy. Because that is what the monotheistic religions are really about.
Being in that state is the RESULT of religous endavors. Happiness, respect, humility, sacrifise is there to make a world where we are shining, healthy and simply happy.
To get there, we need to dream and apply our fierce work to create a world that makes it possible to reach that state. That is the dream of America, essentially.
A paradise of happy people.
G-d bless the will the keep the American dream alive.
You know, to unite, you need a way to do it. You need a path, some waypoints, a little help from your friends.
But at the end of the day, you need goals and destiny.
The American dream has always been the deal of all Americans, but it is through lack of attention to that dream, that it seems to disappear.
I mean, are we really supposed to scold each other all the time? Call each other bad names and so on?
Or are we to find a middle path, a beautiful path of light, as my great grand uncle Andreas Engberg used to call it. He said, that he walked on the path of light to reach his folk.
Now embarking on that path, you need to understand, that the way and the voyage is difficult. You need to reach a new frontier.
But the path itself will, hopefully, be worth the struggle.
Now, what is it that we try reach? The mirage, the hallowed hall on the top of the hill?
In a sense it is Eden, the promised land.
But what is Eden? Eden is the very first city of the Middle East, called Eridu. It is where all the ideas of the world was essentially created; rule of law, religion and all these elements that make up what we call our civilization.
So reaching the goal, is to be very good at making law, doing Democracy, being a wise good man in a world filled with chaos. That is what it is about. The hard work, the beauty of your life with perhaps gal at your side.
That is the dream, to be a simple, humanistic yet wonderful person, living a family life.
But often the dreams we have are stripped away, we all know how this is. Yet the dream is still there, calling on us to live a normal life.
Tolstoi, the famous Russian writer started his Anna Karenina with the saying, that all good families look alike, and all bad families are different from each other. Why? Because reaching that dream finally, is a set goal. It is written in the Bible, and is a set of rules and good principles that will eventually give all that follow these ideas a good life.
So, maybe it is time to reach for that dream, and give people a chance at reaching their own little Eden; a set of naughty kids and beautiful wife, who knows, maybe even a house with your name on. You can get a dog as well.
These simple things are what heaven is made of; loving people around you, and good value to your name.
That is the American dream.
G-d blew the will to find bliss and harmony in this world.
Well, my life has been a bit of a rollercoaster. From the beginning with the Mohammad cartoon crisis, over the Obama administration and now to some kind of reconciliation.
I have given it a bit of thought, on how to keep the balance between the international work and the national work I do here in Denmark.
The problem is, that there is an imbalance.
Two years ago, I managed to initiate a small TV station, with the help of the government here in Denmark, thank you for that. At least now, I am not so hard pressed economically.
The problem is, that it chains my focus on Denmark quite a lot. I do a lot of interviews, and travel around in Northern Denmark.
It gives me a lot of insight, since, I get to talk to a lot of wise people, but it constrains my focus on international politics.
Ok, here is a way perhaps to do something about it. First of all, there was a job, that was in the plans. That job could be a way to support my international focus.
It would make a balance between making money here in Denmark, and making money in the US.
But, and this where my “demands” comes into play. I cannot move to the US.
I can do a lot of work from Denmark, and travel from time to time, but I will remain a citizen of Denmark.
But, if you want to make some kind of arrangement that would make that possible, it could work.
What I do is to construct societies. I am a political architect. This requires little research and testing in the sense, that I deduce my ideas. The ideas I work with are already tested by time, that is why they also work in the present.
Take my discussion on progressive tax. It comes from a discussion Democritus has on equality. It is not the idea of Karl Marx, he got it from Democritus.
So knowing, that this idea is ancient and has worked under certain circumstances, I know how to make it work today.
That is what I do, in all the areas that I work.
Off cause it should ideally, be tested before it is put into the society. Often when philosophers have new ideas, they are tested on countries and people, without their knowing, that is essentially using people as guineapigs.
The western society is a complex and intricate system, containing religion, political ideals, administration, military.
It is extremely complex, if you poke it here, you need to know what the effects are.
So, you have to be careful, that is why you like me, because you know, that, within, reason, what I recommend is not going to topple the boat.
Anyway, my point was, that what could be a kind of solution to my difficulty in reenergising the british/american discussion, would be to have two jobs, one in each country. That would make it possible for me, to discuss the issues of America, England and Denmark. Not a bad bunch of countries in my mind, we are very much the same, have the same systems and aspire to the same ideals.
Anyway, that was my reflection on getting myself to a place, where I can share my time and energy more equally between Denmark, England and the US.
Here are some further reflections to your current development of the political work.
First of all, you need to be realistic about the socialistic ideals. If you start taxing according to progressive tax, you need to watch the borders more.
The point is, as Lycurgus, the founder of Sparta argues, if you build a community where the rich pays to the poor, that is egality, you need to make sure, people have a personal relationsship to each other. Solidarity requires personal attachment.
This is the basic flaw of Marxist thinking.
Community requires a shared base of values.
Now, I get it, it sounds nice with a lot of care for the poor, payed by the rich. But we need to be realistic about the system. If we are not, the system breaks down. Lycurgus was quite adamant on this point, so we need to heed him, as I see it.
This brings the whole discussion border control and so on into perspective. Because, then what?
Point is, to be honest, we need to choose between open borders and a wealth faresystem.
That is the truth of it.
What you choose is off cause up to discussion, but Lycurgus is right, and Karl Marx was wrong in not hearing him.
That is the lay of the land, I am sorry, but that is the truth of it.
But then, when you realise this truth, what you can do, is to envision that society that you want. Create that utopia.
The soul of the people, needs to be nurtured and cared for, that is the aim of American politics as I see it.
G-d bless the will to be honest and keep America as a dream.
In the discussion of Social media, what seems to me to be lacking is not really discussion in social media as such, but more an attitude to discussion that is within a humanistic/democratic frame.
We have discussed democracy, where social media have failed miserably. To remedy the whole censuresystem is almost impossible, it is so far gone down the Stasi/KGB methods, that we need someone else to do censureship, than the socialmedia owners themselves. They have absolutely no inclination to be responsible for some of the most important pieces of infrastructure in the world. The idea with the internet was to create openess, and ever since Social media has arised, the opposite has happened.
Anway, back to the discussion on humaneness.
Remember the US is a humanistic/democratic state. It comes all the way from the first pilgrims, over the civilwar and to the civil diobedience strikes in the 60´ties.
Anyway, what is it to be humane?
It is, as we Jews call it, to be a Mensch. An exceptional human being. A human being, that is able to forgive, accept the wrongdoings of other people, that in the face of adversity keeps his faith in the positive, in giving, in being humane.
It is the very opposite of control and boxing in.
Social media is all about boxing people in, and hindering them of doing what they like the most.
Take me, I have worked on my little tv station TV Freedom.
I just love to work with that. I get to meet people, support the democratic process, give all people a voice.
So what do Facebook think about that, well, from the beginning, Facebook has put strict rules over my TV station, I cannot advertise for my tv station, whenever I get too popular, the shadow banning starts and so on.
The very opposite of being humane in understanding me.
So if Facebook handles a renaessance philosopher with disdain, lack of of humanity and attempts at controlling, how are other people handled?
The same way, but just worse.
Is that humane?
G-d bless the will to be human in a world, where control and systematic lack of humanity is the reality of most people.
Ok, it seems to me, that I have been involved in so many agendas, that it is a little hard for me to truly stay on top of them all. But I am doing my best.
Here is something about the US.
Equality
Equality is a liberal virtue. We have equality between people, different colors, classes and as a new virtue, the equality between nature, man and business in the climate Change department.
So, what is this virtue of the liberal, and how may we understand and apply it?
First of all, one needs to understand the basis of the idea. Equality is a way to reach a happy society. According to Plato, a situation where there is too far away from one end to the other, there is a lack of balance. Take classes, in countries where the rich are so rich, that they can have a lot of servants, and the poor are living in appaling poverty, the gap between the rich and the poor is too wide. So that is the reason why we have progressive taxes, to make a situation where the rich are not totally rich, and the poor not totally poor.
Off cause, this is not an idea that is without its problems, in a capitalist society, the values that the rich make, is distributed through jobs, so making a communist society, there is no wealth at all to distribute. So you need to find a balance between too much and too little, and you need a loyal as well as patriotic workforce as well as industrialist. That proud mark of Made in America, must be something that both worker as well as industrialist is common in understanding as something good.
As soon as that goes away, then the whole nation is not working anymore. This is a point where I have gone back to Hegel in my understanding of socialism.
We need a Hegelian understanding of the nation.
But with the right care, and understanding, we CAN make a more equal society by making progressive tax.
Climate
Anyway, it is the same idea that goes with Climate. Here again, we need a true balance between the needs of man and nature.
If we just make the whole globe into a manmade hell for all other species, we loose sight of something profound; the grace of spirits realization in nature. We loose our faith.
It is through understanding nature as a spritiual realization of G-d, that we may be able to preserve and understand both ourselves as well as nature as something divine.
But, and this is where the balance comes into play again, we also need to feed all the people that keeps coming into existence, and that requires areas to grow crops.
But, that is where the innovation of agriculture comes into play; making more food in less space and trying out new kind of smart crops.
It is about the equality between man and nature, and we still need to do all this on an international market, so we need to respect that making food is a business for a lot of people.
So innovation and picking the winners is a strategy here as well, and then trying to pressure some of the bad guys.
The mass slaughter of the forest of Borneo anyone? The plastic catastrophe of the oceans, a problem we need to fix and think about, and so on, there are a host of issues we need to adress.
Social media
And then there is Facebook and Google that seems to have forgotten that they are supposed to be Mensch, shame on them.
Dear Joe, things are seeming to get into gear I think.
Here are my reflections on the current issues.
First the war against China. Trying to cut out China from the free markets, is a master stroke. It is much more effective than what Trump did, but it comes with its own set of caveeats and issues, that you have to think about.
What is it anyway with free markets, and what is it good for?
In essence it is an idea, that Adam Smith had, that caters to the fact, that if we make a market where all can take part in, it in effect lifts all nations up, IF the nations that contribute accept the rules of law, that is.
I mean, pirates are still pirates, and should be considered pirates. The piracy copying that the Chinese have built on, is basicially stealing knowledge, and it is therefor illegal.
90% of Chinese production is therefore based on stolen goods, and it creates a situation, where it gives the Chinese an advantage that is essentially not within the frame of free trade. Knowledge piracy is piracy.
So, what you need to do, is then cut them out of the free market, and make sure, that the nations that is within the free market accepts the rules of law, and does not steal from other companies.
But, here is the problem. It needs to be setup in a way, that the other nations feel sure, that they are a part of that new free market of lawabiding nations.
The rest of the world, more or less.
So isolate China in terms of acces to market, and you will deal an essential blow to the balance between the US and China.
But, and that is very important. You need to make sure, that American businesses accepts the fact, that they are supposed to make things in America.
Made in America.
How you do that, is also a pretty important part of the rebuilding of America.
Here in Denmark, we can, potentially, work together, union and producer.
Maybe that is a way of the US as well, seek cooperation between union and production.
Seek out solutions here on a political level, maybe in a cooperation with the Republicans. They are also interested in a strong and prosperous United States of America.
Climate Change
Then there is the Climate.
First of all, I have been doing a lot of research here in Denmark, and talked to both sides. It is really a diffcult area. But there are openings here and there.
Energy change being one of them. Going from fossile fuel production to renewable energy is possible, but needs a lot of development to really succeed.
There are many interesting project, and supporting the winners is a good idea.
I just had an interview with the second in command of Socialistisk Folkeparti Jacob Mark, and he worked that way. Picking the winners, and supporting them.
Hyperloop development is interesting, we have power to X in Denmark, Elon Musk knows a lot and is doing many interesting things.
Ok, having established the basic principles of sustainability, that of balance of things. Balance between man, nature and business, we can move on to the practical.
I will return to my trip to paradise island, but just to give you some inspiration to what we can do with climate change, here is an overview.
There are three possible areas of practical action.
1. Energy consumption
2. Agricultural development
3. Marine care
First energy consumption. This area is where we have the windmills, the electric cars, the hyperloop. That is figuring out new ways to use energy and create better modes of transportation.
Mr. Musk and mr. Branson have made some amazing developments in this area. So supporting these two fine gentlemen, is not a bad idea. Whatever they come up with, support it. They have the track record of blazing innovation, and we can safely put our trust in them.
There is another field, that I am working on in Denmark, that of green fuel. We are leading in this area, so hopefully, we can initiate the roll out of fuel made with renewable energy sources. That is going from wind to fuel in cars and ships.
Pretty cool innovation if you ask me.
Talking about agricultural development as well as marine care, these areas are very difficult to handle, so be careful. I have done a lot of research here in Denmark, and the problem is, that we are working with conservative farmers, who are not used to intervention, and they do not trust the left.
So, forcing the farmers is not a good idea. We had a huge rally of farmers after our current government started forcing them, it was not ok.
What you can do, is to focus on the innovative branch of agricultural production. There are all kinds of new ways to figure out ways to make food that is less punishing to nature. Fast crops, worms as protein and so on. Israel is leading here.
Add to this, animal care is important, but again, it is very difficult. Just enforcing new rules, will get the farmers riled. Work WITH the farmers, even though it is extremely difficult.
I am actually doing it in Denmark, and it can be done. But they are tough, and wise, so we should respect the farmers. They do also carry an ancient life form, that we stil remember as the “village”. Right? We carry this picture of the farm and the village with us. The ideal, healthy, little town, where they play the banjo, go to church and sing every morning. It is still there, here and there, and we should protect that mirage of happiness instead of not seeing it, very important.
Then there is aqua care. This again, is also a very difficult area. With the same reasons as agriculture, because of the fishermen.
I dont know how it is in the US. But here in Denmark, there is an extremely complex reality of agriculture using fertilizer that has a negative effect on the oceans. Fishermen having quotas as to how much they are allowed to fish and so on. It is complex.
At the other hand, it is really important as well. Marine nature is suffering from overfishing, wrong ways of fishing and so on. It should be regulated, but with respect for fishermen. These guys are really nice, freedom loving bunch of old guys. I really like them, they are still very much into freedom. They love to roam the seas, and carry a certain cultural lore we need to keep.
So treat them with respect.
One thing that is really important and a great problem for the marine ecological system is plastic in the oceans.
This is an area we can something about.
The problem is the third world, that do not burn their wast before they throw it out. They just throw their garbage in the rivers, that then carry it to the oceans.
There are numerous ways to solve it, but working with the governments that are responsible for the pollution is important. We need to stop the constant flow of garbage into the ocean. Maybe with some kind of cleaning plant at the end of the rivers. Plastic make for good fuel. So if you make a powerplant using the plastic that is otherwise just thrown into the ocean, could be a business that could work in itself maybe.
Anyway, these are the three areas you can work with.
Gettting along, and starting the work is possible.
America is truly the home of idealism. Take Mr. Abraham Lincoln and the civil war. He fought not only for the power over all of the US, but most noticeably for ideas.
That all men are created equal, that slavery is tyranny.
In a way, the revolutions, especially the French revolution had a very fertile ground for idealism in the US. Still has, as the statue of Liberty underlines whenever you come to New York.
As a philosopher, and as a renaissance philosopher, who sees these basic ideas of the US as my own as well, I feel a extremely great responsibility to what the US and the Democratic cause has come to.
You know, my fellow philosophers were the ones to convey these ideas to the modern world. My task has not been to spread the ideas, but to protect them.
That is difficult, in a situation, where the ideas mature, and you see some of the negative aspects of the ideas as well, because they are there. It is written in the philosophical scripture, mainly in Plato to look out for certain problems that lie in the system and structure of the republic.
Mainly that of moral corruption, when people start taking things for granted. That was one of the reasons, that I criticized the outsourcing of American industry. That is why, I now criticize Social media.
We have to be loyal to the Democratic state, and support the institutions that it rely on. Public discourse being one of the most vital and important. If we do not debate as citizens, then how are the politicians supposed to make any laws that are the essence of the public debate?
Social media with its focus on monetary accruement, and with no eye as to how the public dialogue is supposed to work, is a huge, huge problem, and their only response to my criticism so far has been more censorship.
Anyway, there is absolutely nothing wrong with our democratic institutions, they are the best man has ever made. It makes most happiness, progress, everything. But untended it has the risk of deteriorating into business only.
That is a problem.
Anyway, as Democracy finds new ways, conquers new territory, and has to adapt to new kinds of reality, so must we as its servants, try our very best to support and enrich it.
Sometimes it will cost us, it has certainly cost me. Twenty years of unending harassments of the Danish state is the current tally of my life.
But that is the way, you need to sacrifice some of yourself, to make it work.
As the ancient Vikings said. The tree of life, needs the sacrifice of the heroes to live.
It is the same today.
That is the way of Democracy, and will always be.
G-d bless the will to be vigilant for the weaknesses of Democracy, and may we hand it down to the next generation, stronger than it was.
Ok, lets get on with the tale of Livø. The day after I arrived at Livø, this is a true story, I went to town. The town of Livø, is a small tourist spot that was built as a carehome for mentally disabled persons, that lived at the island 70 years ago. So at its time it was quite famous for its methods of taking away people who had problems living with the rest of us, and giving them a little paradise in the fjord. Not all liked it, but the intention was clear; care for people.
This is reflected in the architecture of the island. Solid, well built, beautiful housing. The roof of the local farm is made with the most exquisite stoneweave. It is so beautiful.
Anyway, I strolled around the city, and went to the grocery store. The grocery store is where everything is revolving around. It is run by a guy called mr. Bergholdt, Jesper Bergholdt, and he is a visionary himself. He used to be the proprietor of the Viking restaurant at Lindholm Høje, that is a ancient burial site of the vikings. Still there with stone settings the form of sailing vessels. Still the ravens fly high and ominous over Lindholm høje.
So mr. Bergholdt is not your run of the mill, normal propeitor, but a man of many ideas and thoughtful.
So I asked him, if he wanted to be interviewed for my tv station, and he instantly agreed, despite his maniacal pace. It was a very height of the year in terms of his business. So image this strong bull of man, with a beard as long as ZZ tops, with the voice soft as a melody, and you got the gist of it.
Anyway, as I said, there was a summer camp at the island, and I happened to bump into the leader of it, through the help of Jesper.
So we setup a talk as well.
All about sustainability.
So, just to not let you wait, let me give you the base principle, and we can it from there in the following posts.
According to Jesper, Livø, the very paradise that we strive for. What makes it so amazing is the fact, that all is in balance. Man, economy and nature.
Each has a place, and all is considered equal.
There you have it guys, the very core of the lefts argument for climate change. That man, economy and nature is equal. All is equally worth on the island of Livø. And all thrives, as it is respected.
The life stock wander the woods, clearing out the undergrowth, so that the woods have clearings as open as possible, making the sun rush through the wood like a spirit on a morning day.
It is so beautiful, you cant imagine, and it is based on the idea, that we are equal with nature and economy.
Pretty cool?
Anyway, that was the base principle, and there is much more to come.
Ok Joe, here is what I would recommend you doing in Afghanistan.
Draw the troops out in as an orderly fashion as possible. Dont delay, dont hurry, just do it at the pace you find is the right.
At the same time, you need to get some pay back from the attack of Isis at the airport.
Send in the drones, make the attacks precise, only hitting exactly the targets that were involved in the attack on the airport, and then just continue from there. Whittle them down from the top.
What is really important is to avoid any civilian casualties. Be very, very careful. As this is a war of bombing, it is also the war of hearts and minds. Be careful not to hit any of our friends, but on the contrary help our friends. They need to be taking responsability for their own country, but we should be VERY adamant in trying to support the pro democratic movement in the country. As in the Arab spring, remember?
Now, off cause the Arab spring was different, it was just in the first term of Barack, and we were very popular at the time. So we cant rely on the support of the people at the same level. But I mean, we are in it for Democracy, and those who support us, we should support. Not nation building, but the support of those who share our values and worldview. That is fair, and hopefully, the people of Afghanistan will like our approach.
And then be adamant about that, say that you are not in it for nationbuilding, but you still support the Democratic cause, and any who do the same, will be your ally.
And then do it, without risking American lives anymore, the public is warweary, that is fine, but they still want the cause of Democracy to be seen as something worth supporting, and they will support that.
Anyway, be clear about your priorities and then just start cutting the head off the snake, so that it keeps out of the US.
G-d bless the will to be vigilant and fast in action, and you can do this Joe, it is difficult, but you can do it.
Well, as things need to be dealt with in foreign policy, we also need to keep the ball rolling in the department of Climate Change.
I have been sailing a lot this summer, as a part of my work with my little TV station. Sailing with my 23 footer, “The Mermaid”.
Most of the sailing has been done in the internal waters of the Limfjorden, maybe the best sailing area in Denmark. At least amazingly beautiful. Sailing is tough, you know, but it is also a possibility to see things and reach places that you normally would not be able to reach. As you Americans have your horses and ride into the sunset, we Danes have our sailing boats to give us freedom.
Pretty cool, actually.
Anyway, the story goes, that I was sailing to the remote Island of Livø, one of the few spots where, by the grace of the almighty, happiness and sustainability goes hand in hand.
You Americans know the vibe, because it is the same vibe that mr. Niels Bohr brought with him to the US in the Manhattan project.
A small island in the middle of the fjord, that is simply; happy.
When I arrived at the island, it was after a harrowing sailing trip. I havn´t had the Mermaid sailing for some time, so I was a bit pressed. She handled the pressure amazingly, but the waters just outside the harbour of Livø was a dangerous and difficult strait to cross, and I was a bit tired. So my arrival in the harbor was quite difficult and not that elegant. I had to arrive with sails in my hand, and happened to arrive too fast.
Anyway, I was helped, in the harbor, by a young gentleman in a one masted seafaring vessel, and I instantly liked him.
So I asked him what he was doing on the island of Livø, and he told me, that he was attending there as a part of the Socialist folkehøjskole summercamp. He told me, that he had been there since he was 5. Pretty cool guy. His ship needed repair, it was a bit unkept, but it could still sail all the way from Copenhagen to Livø.
So, I asked him, what this summercamp was all about, and he told me, that it was kind of the inspirational camp for all in the left wing party of Socialist Folkparty.
Anyway, I went down in my bunk, and rested for a bit, it was a harrowing experience sailing through Limfjorden, and I had to have some rest. But the next day I made a few appointments with the spiritual leader of Livø, and the proprietor of the Island, to try and understand what is going on on Livø.
And I will entertain you good folks who read here on Rubicon.dk over the next few weeks, because, boy was that a beautiful, harmonious understanding of sustainability. And the best of it all, it worked. Everybody was happy when I was there, even the animals!
G-d bless the will to see sustainability as something worth our while.
Well, we have to be brutally honest about the current foreign policy situation. Leaving Afghanistan has weakened the American leadership more than it already was.
I get it, we should get out of Afghanistan anyway, and we were doing quite well in subduing Al-Queda. But the move, where the Talibans are victorious, is a massive defeat in that war.
Most of the work we did in the Obama administration may just start to unravel.
That is the bad news, the good news is, that it kind of gets our attention again. We need to look at the matter, and it was a strategy that united the world behind us in the Obama term; the fight against Al Queda, Islamic State and so on.
So we have given ourselves a playing ground, that we can actually work on.
I know, that the Biden administration feels obliged to migrate a lot of the cooperating personnel that was in Afghanistan. This is, at best a mixed blessing, but I get it, it is a way to say that we are sorry, and somehow remedy the draw out a bit. The problem is, however, that we are unable to get all the Afghanis out of Afghanistan that is democratic, so to most Afghanis, it will seem pretty unfair, why this guy and not me. You see, it is a solution that will just further the feeling of unfairness.
International politics, is about trying to be fair within the frame you get. It would have been much better so spread out the effort to help as many Afghanis as possible, instead of just a few. And that would have been accepted. Sorry, but it needed to be said.
So we are back at square one, we need to look at the threat of Al Qeuda, and, hopefully, shore of support of the old strategy of hunting the leadership.
The only way for the US to regain international leadership, is to make a good, sound strategy, that people like and is fair.
Not going for muslims with a democratic understanding, and only going for the political muslim organizations is still the best bet we have, and then with a intelligent, IT based strategy.
So, we need to look forward, and understand the possibilities we have.
And then Joe, just to be brutally honest with you, a thing I wasn’t with Mette Frederiksen, current liberal PM of Denmark, you have only one card, and that is me.
I know it sounds preposterous, but my experience is, if you go too far away from my analysis, things start to unravel.
In Denmark right now, Mette Frederiksen is in free fall, I have REALLY tried to help her, but she only listened to half of what I strategized, so now she is going down. I am sorry about it, I wish it was different, but that is the reality of it.
I think the Socialdemocrats should be honest about the current state of affairs. Only in Denmark and in the US have there been any progress, and that has been because of me.
I know it sounds both preposterous, and in a way controlling, and I am sorry for that. But you need to be realistic about what you are up against. It is the same as Obama was up against, the total demise of the liberal cause.
For me, I have no problem with it, I have readers everywhere in the world, and I only help you because we are friends. Ad to that, you don’t need to listen to what I say, it is just what I see here in Denmark. The Socialdemocrats are going down fast. The Trumps administration have done too much damage to liberals, effectively pushing them too the fringes and not to the center.
Soon, things will change in Europe, the fight with the islamists, will intensify. Especially in France, things seem to heat up.
Here in Denmark, things are not going very well, and we need to find that point of balance between right and left.
And we need to focus on climate change as well, as we are occupied with the fight with the Al-qeuda, the climate change is forgotten, and that is a problem, as I see it.
Anyway, take a deep breath Joe, and look forward a few months, after the evacuation, then what? Then we need to pull that Colt 45 and start shooting, to get these enemies of Democracy.
That is the way of the US, as it has always been, weapons change, but the aim, to fight for Democracy, is still the same.
To understand the development of social media, one needs to understand what drives it, and how we need to tackle the challenge of some tech companies gone rogue in terms of the vigilancy towards the sanctity of democratic dialogue.
Let me be honest, it is not a good picture we see. Me, I have been at the top of the censureship apparatchniks for the last fifteen years, so I have a lot of experience with all kinds of censureship.
The way it works is like this.
The censurers of Facebook is a bunch of uneducated, lazy and unenlightened students that do censureship amid pizzas and homework.
There is absolutely no idealism in the function. In newspapers it is the opposite. Here journalists hold icons as Socrates and Voltaire as examples we try to follow. I doubt any of the censurers have ever heard about either Socrates or Voltaire.
Facebook has developed a regime of censorship. There is from low level to high level.
At the low level, Facebook puts up a warning, to tell you to follow their policies, that are, at best, opaque and lack any meaning.
If you do not follow this command, you will get censored. You can be censored from a few days to a month.
But at the same time, Facebook have developed “shadow banning”. That is, they have built in in their software an option to censure postings they do not like, so that very few people see them.
Add to this a focus on advertisment, so that if you pay, you can get your message out.
So, in practise, the rich rules Facebook, because they pay.
This Machaivellian system rules over mankind, more or less.
There is no way, that you can object to the verdict of the censurers. Practically ruling out basic rights as freedom of speech and the ability to make peace through dialogue.
In effect it creates small bubbles of culture that do not talk with anyone but people they share worldview with.
In the ancient democratic forum, the strenght of that forum was a debate on things with people who disagree.
So in order to fix the massive censureship, illegal censureship, of Facebook and other social media. The government and the justice system must take control of the censoring process.
It should meet legislation in the country that people reside in.
This is not easy, but it is necessary, because social media have develop to such a threat to the democratic debate and dialogue.
If you put people in charge of the very centre of a democratic infrastructure that have no idea about how it is suppose to work, you get the systems we have now.
Since the IT tychoons seem to be of the understanding, that the democratic dialogue should conform to their understanding, and not that they are servants of democracy, the justice system must take over, and make a system that will serve the public.
G-d bless the will to take action on the undemocratic and hence dangerous social media in the view of an ideal world of public dialogue.
We have a bit of a problem with the Social Media. Me myself, I have had a lot of problems with social media lately, mainly because I have opposed the Black Lives Matter/woke political ideas that are alive and fighting in Denmark.
I do this, because I do not accept racism, and you can come from left or right, racism is racism.
So, Facebook has started banning me, and censuring me.
This has stressed the point, for me, that the censurship of Social media is truly out of hand.
In China the communist leaders have reached the same conclusion, and have been cracking down on Chinese mega techs.
Anyway, it does not seem to me, that the American Social media are listening much to what I say. I have been talking about open source and the importance of open social media. My own experience is, that Youtube seem to be listening a little, but Facebook remains totally unforgiving and keep on bashing the old racist tree.
Anyway, this underlines the problems that current social media encounters. At one hand, social media is responsible for the democratic debate happening in a serious and enlightened manner. At the other hand it is a business.
For now at least, it has been all about business. The social media platforms have allied themselves with the bad guys of western society, that is the secret police, at least here in Denmark, and have, more or less ignored the rest of the society.
This has led to a KGB like system, that censures all that is not in the interest of the secret police, and in the censorship that is, at best, haphazard,
Anyway, it calls for reform, but what reform.
Here we need to understand, that the best possible solution would be, if the owners of social media can plan and manage the job themselves. This is why I have been very reluctant to start a debate on the management of social media.
IT companies like Facebook and Youtube needs a lot of freedom to be able to invest in Research and development.
Making new features and staying ahead of the rest of the market is extremely important.
So controlling Facebook, Youtube and other Social media will effectively constrain them a lot, and effectively eventually kill them, even.
That is what is happening in China.
So we should be realistic about the means we apply, and the consequence.
But the KGB like censorship regime Social media is applying right now is worse than curbing the freedoms of social media.
What we need is a transparent, fair and controlled environment, that is based on sound principle. We need to be able to censure some things, but censureship should be handled by professional judges and not student workers.
The state should control social media, and not private investors. It is such a critical piece of infrastructure, that we cannot allow young people with no idea about how to do democratic debate run them.
Sorry, but that is the reality of it.
So we need to see some kind of proposal for legislation, where Social media is effectively controlled by the judges. That is the best we can do now.
I will follow up on this posting in the next couple of months.
G-d bless the will to make a more transparent world.
Ok, the Afghanistan draw out is kind a reaching a climax. All the newspapers have smelled blood of a leader that they can intimidate, and the ground personnel in Afghanistan are not feeling a sense of security.
So what do we do?
We show that we understand the game of international politics, and we make the moves, that makes most sense in the situation. With the wellbeing of all of East Asia as the true aim of the situation.
From when I put some thoughts to this issue until now, the following have happened;
Most importantly Turkey seems to accept the idea, that we work with the close vicinity of Afghanistan in terms of shoring up the refugees and giving the refugees a permanent to semipermanent place to stay.
This is because all the migrants/refugees are going to end up in Turkey making the life of mr. Erdogan really problematic. Already a lot of the Syrian migrants are making his life a problem, because they make a lot of problems in Turkey, effectively pushing the electorate to the fringes of Turkish politics. The extreme rightwing of Turkey are called Grey Wolfes and they are pretty scary.
So a massive wave of migrants from Afghanistan would further destabilise Turkey, and that is a problem.
It seems to me, that the current solution to the massive possible exodus from Afghanistan has been to promise a small number of migrants stay in Western Europe. That will create a huge pushback from the fringes of European politics, and might just cost mr. Johnson his seat. He was elected to make migrants go out of the country, not go in. So that is a very dangerous solution to the stability of the European governments as well.
What is a possible solution however, is still to make a diplomatic blitz to the neighbouring countries around Afghanistan. Turkey would be very much in agreement with this idea, and it will effectively send a message to the Afhganis, that we will help as much as we can, but migration is not an option.
It is not fair, because the redrawal of troops and the consequent take over by Taliban was not fair, but that is the best we can do in the situation.
Anyway, we must, as I see it, seeks diplomatic solutions with the neighbouring countries to Afghanistan, and then we must start hunting the leaders of the Taliban.
We must also seek results in the other areas of conflict where the Al Qeudas are. Give people the impression, that we are doing all we can to solve the problem.
Israel is very much with us on this, so we have the best partner possible.
Then there is the press. When they smell a weak leader, they will go into a frenzy, and start accusing you of this and that. Dont worry too much about it, adress the problems the best you can. But the press in this situation are just going bollocks, and there is nothing much you can do about it. Talk with them, explain your plans, and then just take it easy and stay calm.
Dont take it too serious, but show strength by remaining calm and on the ball.
You can do this Joe.
G-d bless the will to stay calm, in the eye of the storm.
Joe, we need a new strategy to counter the old Afghanistan strategy. I know, that the populace is really annoyed we the redrawal from Afghanistan. I am with you on this, this has been going on for too long. But we still need to be seen as doing some action on this issue.
I have been doing a lot of research while Trump was at the helm, and here are some of the insights that could be of use.
Osama Bin Laden, Al-Queda, the muslim brotherhood and all the other radical sunni muslim terrorist organizations, are ruled by a small clique of intellectuals and leaders.
The way it works is like this. The secret organizations of the sufi, that is a brotherhood of sunni muslim intellectuals do all the heavy lifting when it comes to the intellectual development.
These guys are actually a lot cooler than you would imagine. They are spiritual, but in a more liberal sense, they are mystics and have been around for as long as islam itself.
Their leader is called Qutb. As the spiritual leader of the Muslim brotherhood, that is the true machinator of the islamic renaissance.
Anyway, their true weakness is their very strict rank of command. Cut the head of the snake, the snake dies. Maybe not in fast way, but the intellectual nourishment all true strains of wisdom and belief needs will be cut off.
You could say, that this is mean, but in Islam an intellectual is just as much a warfarer as an intellectual.
So, this is a possible new strategy; cut off the head of the snake.
It is much cheaper in terms of equipment, it uses our resources at the best. We are leading in reconnaissance, IT equipment, precise bombing and so on.
But we should be careful, because the war from the sky is very unpopular, it will not win us hearts and minds, but will weaken the enemy.
So go for the top, use the clandestine arms of the fighting force, and simply dismantle the Sunni muslim uprising through understanding their organization.
They fight in secret ways, so we should do the same.
G-d bless the will to continue fighting, but this time with means that will actually hurt the enemy.
Well, we have a very tough discussion on IT companies attack on civil rights as free speech and privacy of data.
First of all, I get it, we live in a dangerous world, and giving terrorists acces to a new IT structure to do whatever they want is off cause a bad thing.
At the other hand, the infrastructure of blogs and the internet in general, is there to underpin the democratic system.
Let me try to explain. In Google and Facebook and many other IT Companies, you have what is called a organization based on the “Copenhagen Spirit”. Mr. Niels Bohr, was the de facto leader of the Manhatten project that created the nuclear bomb, and he took the spirit of his research facility of Copenhagen and brough it to the US. It was so inspiring, that it still is there all these years after he came to the US. That is a creative environment, where people of skill have free rein to use their creativity, and there is a pursuit of knowledge and ideas, right?
It creates an amazing environment of production that has given us titans as Google, Facebook, Apple and many other IT companies.
But, and this is something you guys need to remember, Mr. Niels Bohr gave us a mission. After he finished the bomb, he realized to his horror the tool he had made. It could destroy the world, effectually creating a nuclear armageddon. So, he did what he thought was right, and wrote a famous letter to the UN, calling for a world of openess.
His good friend, and my predecessor mr. Knud Ejlar Løgstrup, was the Danish philosopher of the day, and he believed that to make trust and mercy work in a Democratic system, one needs openness.
So, as a act of trying to spread that idea around the world, Mr. Niels Bohr wrote the letter called the Weapon of Openness.
Now, you can arm Facebook and all the other IT infrastructure for good or bad. But if you want to stay on course and realize the ideas of Bohr, you need to keep the world Open.
It will, hopefully, create more trust. I know, that people have started fighting in the internet like never before, and we have violent and destructive political strains of political developments as a consequence.
When people are in the know, they get angry.
But, that does not mean, that the idea is wrong, it just means, that we need to make an open world, that gives people positive incitements as well, right?
PRIORITIZE the positive in the flow of communication, but dont start the censureship. That is the opposite of what a democratic society is about. And it will just start a wide crackdown on IT companies that do not respect basic rights of the citizens.
My advice would be, to see of the IT companies develop a balanced and positive approach to communication, and stop the censurship.
If not, we have to start cracking down on them.
I am an internet nerd, the great grandfather of blogging, and I would hate to crack down on the next and next generation. But virtue is needed to make the internet whole and positive. The basic virtue being Openness.
When the US went into Afghanistan, it was a reaction to 9/11. An attack on New York in the middle of the day. Mr. Bush used the military to attack a country that, at that time, was the epicenter of a virulent version of islam, a sunni muslim renneassance version of islam including a political state and a repressive law system.
You can like that system or not, but these guys killed over a thousand civilians, just to prove a point.
The strategies change. When Barack Obama was at the helm, it was not so, that the sunni muslim rebels were given a wide berth. We fought them with new strategies such as drones and alliances with local democratic parties. The prime of them being the Kurds.
But Afghanistan remained as a country that we tried to build a democracy in. We kind of inheretid the problem.
One strategy is to go in and occupy a territory, another strategy is to use a combination of modern warfare equipment and diplomacy to reach our goals.
As of now, the last strategical approach is still in function, and it has made a wide alliance including both sunni and a few shia. Why? Because it is a balanced, intelligent and fair approach. It measures the response to the attack, and acts to refrain from civilian casualties.
But that still questions the occupation of Afghanistan. My view on it has always been to try and stop the occupation without leaving the population of Afghanistan at the mercy of the Sunni rebels.
This was also the approach of Bidens administration, but it seems to me, that the consequences are very dire for the populace of Afghanistan.
This is a problem we have to do something about. But just migrating all democratic Afghans to Europe will not solve the issue, it will pour gasolin on the fire of the antimigrant debate. So that is also a no go.
What we need to do, is to make an alliance with a neighboring country, and see if we can make a safe haven for the refugees there.
At least, if it is possible, it is the most balanced solution. Having Europe go into flames, is as bad as having all the Afghans killed. It will definetely create a chaotic situation.
This calls for decisive action and make fast and viable solutions for all included.
It also calls for a rapt surveillance of the current development of the anti islamic state initiative.
While Bush fought to fight the Talibans and the Sunni extremists on their own turf, we need to fight with the new methods of warfare; complicated it equipment, surveillance, and diplomacy.
This has not been in vain, we just changed tactics.
G-d bless the decisive action and tough approach to islamic state vigilanties.
When you want to Change the World, it is difficult, people react in different ways based on their world view. In the old world, Change is riddled with violence and destruction. If you want to Change something, you can be sure, that you get the entire system on your back. They will kill you parents, destroy your family, and steal your money, just to shut you up. Destruction seems to be the only answer to Change. They do not want to Change, well yes on a superficial level, but truly making a better world is definitely not in the books.
In the New world things are different, here Change is welcomed, and truly celebrated. Especially in the US, things Change according to a beautiful plan, idealism and faith in a dream of a world where we are actually happy remains as a strong drive for a better world. I mean, all my predecessors here from Europe either died here, og escaped to the US. So no wonder it is such an idealistic country. The US is s country made by rebels to rebels.
But the world has actually changed lately due to the development of the Internet, for a blink of an eye, the world opened up due to the faithfullness of the open soruce programmers, but is now closing down again.
That blink of an eye, where mr. Niels Bohrs idea of a an Open world was truly realized, is what we are still hoping for. Will good prevail, or will we enter another phase of closing things up, outruling the ability for people to reach each other in openness?
That is the way of the world, good and bad, hope and despair changes.
But as there is despair, there is also hope, and hope is what I and many are rooting for.
G-d bless the will to be hopefull in a world of despair.
When we talk about the consolidation of the Western Hemisphere, we need to understand what we come from, and then what we can mend and consolidate.
To do this, we need to understand other examples of conquest, empires and successes in that area.
To be really honest about the difficulties we see in regards to the English empire, we need to understand what was good about it, and what was bad.
The good thing about the English empire was the democratic system, that the Brits brought with them everywhere. It was a oxfordian discussion on how to make a good system in each colony that brought these ideas around the world. If we look at the world, it is still there, almost everywhere. In Africa, in Asia and in America. Why? Because people in these countries really like the system. It is not perfect, but whenever people try something different, it fails, and often with a considerable tragedy in terms of human suffering.
Add to this, the same system brought by the French, and Democracy as an idea is a sweeping success.
But, and this is where we need to be honest, there were other players in the colonial expansion; that of the banks and that of the colonial masters. The banks used their processes to rein in the power of the countries and the colonial masters were often cruel.
In this world, if you do something cruel, it comes back and you have to pay a price for it.
This is why we are seeing a degrading of the British empire into a sorry state, to be honest.
What we need to do, and this is something the Russians have been doing with great success, is to sponsor the positive sides of our culture, and thereby create a common wealth with unity in it.
The Russians all have a common Russian identity, based on the virtues of the Russian state. It works, today Russia is even bigger than the British empire, and there are no rebellion or anything.
The Russian expansion is off cause much older than the British, and has had more time to find a balance, but we can actually learn from that success. The way they did it, is by finding a positive common system that all can identify with.
The same process is what we are working on with the British empire. Find the positive common principles, that all of the former colonies like.
Thereby creating peace.
It struck me, when I talked with the Pakistani scholar at Oxford. He wanted some kind of Islamic state, but he truly recognized the values and virtue of a humanistic, democratic state, as Pakistan has today. But it has to be something that actually works for the people of Pakistan.
In this way, if we stay on course, and work on a positive, realistic common set of ideas, that all share, that has been a British colony, we can bring peace and prosperity for all.
Now, I am very much against the whole race discourse.
Why? Well, essentially the system or idea about race, takes away any personal freedom the individual has, and judges people by something he or she cannot change, the color of his skin.
That is taking all possibility of making your own life, and make something out of your life based on your abilities.
But at a more profound level, I vehemently oppose the idea of race, because it was a part of the colonial control system. Just as when the banks controlled the colonies by giving them loans, the inhabitants of the colonies were treated as subhumans based on their skin color.
It put the white man at the top of the food chain and the black man at the bottom of the food chain.
So, when you continue banging that drum of race, all you do is to repeat the control system, in a new way.
Giving people of color preference in the system, is just turning the control system upside down.
This does not mean, that we should not help poor people, but they should not be judged by the color of their skin, but on what they do.
The US has ALREADY changed its mind on race, the independence wars was about race, because it essentially was against the colonial control system. The founding fathers wanted to build a nation without regard to race, thereby giving the people freedom.
To be honest, and I say this as a man color, because I am not white, the founding fathers came up with a system, that gives people the opportunity to be free, and find their own way in life.
They dreamed about a perfect society for everybody, white, black, everybody. A place where people were NOT judged by the color of their skin, but by the actions they do.
I stand for that dream, as it is mine.
So that is what I have fought for, my whole life, and I am not about to change that attitude, whatever you think. I will not accept that my little brown daughter is different from my little white daughter. Just because they have different skin color.
It is a vicious idea, and the very idea is what is wrong to me.
G-d bless the will to see the world as a place, where we can be judged by the actions we do, and not the color of our skin.
Now listen. We are up against China, whether we like it or not. It is like that. What we can do however, is to choose ourselves how we tackle the challenge.
What we need to do, is to be brutally honest to ourselves about the challenge. How have we been faring so far, and then what do we need to do to solve the challenge.
If we look at history, we haven’t even been able to decipher what is going on, so we need to get that down as a starter.
What is going on, is that China has taken the role of the colonizer from the English Crown. The systems and methods that the Brits used until Second World War, has been replicated by the Chinese. They use the banks to enslave the colonies, and suck their ressources.
This is not the criticize the brits, but to understand what the Chinese are doing. They simply filled the void that the brits left, as the grew weak in competition with the Americans.
The Americans would never use the same methods as the brits, because they themselves have tasted the sharp end of the colonial whip, and refuse to use the same methods. However this leaves a void, that the Chinese, with an acute willingness filled.
So, when you think of it, how do the Chinese treat the West, do they do this by trying to use the banks to enslave them?
Wake up guys, the Chinese are only lending all the money the do to try and enslave the West, there will be a time, when they want the money back, with interests, and we have to pay them back in ressources.
They are, effectively using our own methods on us.
That is why it is so important to try and get the books to balance again, and spend only what we make, not the other way around.
At the end of the day, what hinders the Chinese to really try and put us down, is our military, that they are effectively sponsering themselves, by giving us so much loans.
But as soon as that balance is shifting in the favor of the Chinese, this will not hinder them in taking our ressources, as they are doing with all the other colonies that they are acquiring around the globe.
That is the scale of the terrifying challenge, if we do not take this on in a decisive manner, once more America will be a colony.
And I know that that is not an option for the freedom lovers of a former colony.
So you guys need to be serious about this, tighten the belt, and start producing wealth based on your own skills. It can be done, but it will require severing the ties with China in terms of economic cooperation. Corporate America must understand the severity of the situation, and start making things in the US.
Made in America is more than just a election trope, it is a strategy to keep the US independent, in the end it is THE most freedom loving action American business can do, because it effectively hinders the acquiring of the US as a colony of China.
Look at China it pulled itself up by its shoestrings, we can do the same, if we start gettting serious about this challenge.
But we need to be serious in order to stop the colonial machinators in the deep recess of China.
Anyway, we should also be positive, and see this as an opportunity to grow and expand our industrial base, instead of just handing it over to our arch enemy.
Well, there is no way around it. We have to discuss what we do to China.
First of all, it is extremely complicated, secondly it is extremely dangerous.
If we end up in an atomic annihilation campaign we are in deep, deep trouble.
Trump had his economic warfare, which didnt work at all. I mean, as long as we borrow a lot of money from the Chinese, then the whole charade of talking tough is just talk.
What we will eventually end up in, is some kind of fight.
What kind of fight, and how we do it, is what we are supposed to talk about.
First of all, I have faith in the American military. On the surface, when you compare tech, we may actually have a small disadvantage. But that is overwhelmingly balanced off with the courage of and steel of the American soldier.
At the end of day, it is the meeting on the battleground that will decide the outcome. The tenacity, the grit and the sheer force of will that will be decisive.
Chinese are artisans in this area, they make beautiful arts of fighting, and they are very good at it. But a cowboy is not determined by his good skill, but his grit to stay on the horse, day after day.
That is the truth of it.
If we should discuss the strategic level, we need to look at examples in history to have a chance at understanding what is going on.
To me, the most obvious parallel is Alexander the great, and his fight with the Persians.
Why? Because here you had the Democratic idealist pitted against a slavestate. Exactly like Communism in a Chinese version against the US.
We can learn something from Alexander the Great.
What did he do?
He was extremely good at putting up his troops, so that they outfoxed the Persians.
He had very few troops, like 50.000 against millions, and yet he prevailed.
How did he do that? By strategy. He was an expert in applying all kinds of extremely advances strategies to his benefit. One example; he made “mousetraps” in his army, a kind of a deeping in the ranks of his soldiers, when the chariots rode against the army, they instictively rode into the traps, where Alexander could make short work of them. He also sloped his frontline a little, which made it more difficult for his opponents.
In fact, he applied all kinds of tricks and strategies to his advancements.
AND he fought for freedom. The whole point of his advance into Persia was to free the Hellenes from Persia.
So, he had a mission. We need to be clear on our mission.
Now, Alexander was tought by Aristotle from a young age, in fact, Alexander saw it as his mission to spread the gospel of Aristotle. So, he was a missionary.
We need to be missionaries as well, but we need to understand that mission. Maybe it is the same as Alexander? To spread Democracy?
G-d willing they need that support in both Taiwan as well as Hong Kong. Two Democracies under the thumb of the slavestate.
We need to be clear on what we do, how we do it, and then we need to communicate those ideas. That means letting me loose.
At least, that would be the most profound and wise to do. And I am sick and tired og being held down anyway.
So, find that inner cause, that revolutionary fire, the fire of the American revolution.
G-d bless the will to rekindle the faith of the ancients.
You know Joe, when you were really in trouble in the beginning of your election, I chose you. It wasn’t the most rational, the best choice in terms of chance to choose a candidate that would give me someone in the White House that would listen to my ideas. But it was because you are my friend. When we worked together in the Obama time, we kind of found a way together.
Now in my current situation, when I am in a bit of a trouble, you seem to have the same reaction. Ok, Asger is in trouble, he needs my support.
That is what friends do, in a difficult situation.
What I am trying to say Joe is, that you are a good friend. And that quality is something that I believe, will coin and define your presidenship.
Being a good friend is not easy, it is something you need to work on. It takes the ability to be able to prioritize your friends, even though it may not be to your own benefit. But it also gives people, who get to know you, a faith in you. They know, that you don’t just abandon them in times of need, but stay, and try to help.
A quality like that, is what the Americans need right now, because it enables you to reach across the political divides, and make people come together.
Internationally, it gives you the ability to draw people around the same table, and make people be friends as well.
Now, people needs to know, that they can trust you, and for what I gather, it is already starting to work. In the Middle East things are not so troublesome, the Europeans actually like you, and in the pacific it is the same.
Actually there is pretty much peace everywhere.
So, that is a very good start. There is still the China question looming ahead, and it will come to some kind of clash, sooner or later. Make it fast and decisive when it comes to the fight. Don’t hesitate or linger.
But be careful of the atomic Armageddon risk. Avoid that, that is truly the great scare.
So use your great diplomatic skill in the eastern pacific theatre as well as in the Middle East, and see what you can shore up in terms of support.
Friends, we are looking at a time of division. England and Denmark are going one way, a more conservative way, and the US is going a more liberal way.
I know, there are a lot of disagreements, especially when it comes to migration.
We here in Europe are not that keen on migration, and it is a more natural process in the US. I get it, but we have to understand, that what we should base these ideas on, either the liberal as well as the conservative is a humanistic worldview.
There are problems with some migrants, but not all. There are problems with some racists, but not all.
Either side can be either racist, terrorists or liberal humanistic democrats.
The difficult issue is where to put down your perspective.
For a long time, I have been very critical towards some of the radical islamists; al queda, islamic state and so on. But this has been to make room for the humanistic development in the muslim world as well.
We are all human beings after all.
In these issues often people tend to go down in the pits, starting to yell at each other.
Can we not do that, please?
But have a sober, humanistic view on things, and try to be clear on what is up and down.
We need to be open about the problems, but also find some kind of dialogue and understanding.
I believe, that unity is created, when we share ideals, hopes and worldview. There a lot of migrants in Denmark that support a democratic state, but there also some that dont.
That is the way of the world, the gangbangers and destroyers of peoples lives. They are there, and we should approach them without attention to color.
At the same time, truly support an inclusive approach to the migrants and refugees that share our values.
It is a true balance, and it is not easy. But going in the trenches wont help anything, it will just make it worse.
When we talk about race, racism, black against white, I believe we should think about what lies in the very core of the idea.
In its essence, its a tyrannical idea.
When blacks oppress whites, as they have in South Africa, and honestly when we celebrate whites oppressing blacks, it is the same. Two sides of the same coin. There is no getting out of your skin. There is nothing democratic, humanistic or liberal about race ideas. The idea is, that there is a perpetual war fought in the world between different races of man. That is just not right. There is no such thing as an eternal racewar, it is something we invent based on a sorry excuse for theory.
Darwin never thought about human races as racewar, that was a English Socialdarwinist who invented that.
I mean it has been 80 years since these ideas were as much as theorized about. Maybe it is time to move on?
See the world in new ways, such as hailing to the idea, that there is such a thing as redemption and humaness. That spirit will call to those who are honest and good? Be they any color of skin.
Do we really think spirit keeps tab on people with regard to their skin? Seriously?
We have nation, and that nation is worth fighting for, dying for, sacrificing for. But that nation is born by those who are loyal to the idea of the nation.
There are people who are not loyal to that nation, and should be fought off cause, terrorist, criminals and what not. Evil people in essence, but what makes them evil is not their skin colour, it is what they choose to do and believe in.
If you believe in fighting the citizenry, you are evil, it is a simple as that.
But you can have any skin colour to be like that.
Instead of more division, maybe it is time to stop the racebanting and be civilised.
We can stand and oppose the tides of race ideas, but we have to be honest with ourselves. Do we support the idea of race or not.
If you do that, then you also support war as principle, and is that a good or bad thing?
War is supposed to be avoided at all cost, but fought vigorously if it is there.
We have problems enough, maybe creating more is not such a good thing.
Be humane, be liberal, accept other people, but do not be naive. Find balance between the challenges we face.
That is the way of a sincere and successful politics.
G-d bless the insight we might find now, and hopefully find a little peace.
Well, now we have the eternal discussion on “race” in England again. This at a moment, where we were supposed to meet in unity. That was a shame.
How do we go about tackle that problem.
At the very core of the problem lie the idea of a “race”.
I believe, that only at understanding and shifting focus at the very core of the problem, can we truly solve the problem.
This will get a little philosophical, but bear with me.
The idea of “race” is a pretty old one in England, you can read about it in Ivanhoe and it stood in the center at the ideas of Darwin.
In essense Darwin theorizes, that each animal race will fight each other for dominance in a given habitat.
But there are several objections to this theory, and only by discussing the very core of the theory do we change the world.
First of all, there are no human races in a Darwinian definition. There is actually only one race, and that is humans.
Then we tend to have a little different skin color, but we are still all just humans.
We can all get children with each other, so we are the same race.
That is essentially one objection to the darwinian theories. Then there is another one, that is even more important.
Darwin was very much inspired by Goethe, who saw nature as a place of fighting, but also a place of great beautiful things as love, harmony and acceptance.
We should realize, that by banging that drum of race all the time, what we essentially do, is banging the drum of discord and conflict.
There is another element in the original ideas of Goethe, and that is the very essence of spirituality as something good and beautiful.
Maybe we should stop focusing on war all the time, and start focusing on the good of nature as well.
I mean, isn´t that what the climate discussion is all about?
That idea of a world in harmony and spirituality?
I know, there are off cause conflicts we have to tackle, and we should do that with the utmost of force and intelligence, to aim at a world of peace.
But banging the drum of race will only get us to one place; meanless conflict.
Maybe we should stop using the term wrongly, and see it for what it is; a social construct.
Well that was a bit of a downfall, football coming home, and all that. It gave England something, as I see it. It gave England a sense of purpose a renewed confidence in what England CAN achieve, if we all work together.
So thank you for that, and even though we didn’t win, we still delivered an imposing feat. Hail to that.
But still, lets have a look at what is truly important these days post Covid. What is important is to make the whole society work again. Stop the negative spiral, and start a positive spiral.
How do we do that? We do it by being ambitious in terms of what England and Great Britain in general is.
For too long, have we just sat idly by, and watched the society be more and more negative.
Let us stop that movement, and start a positive movement.
What would that be?
That would be a positive preaching for the very core of England, in terms of its political identity and goals. Knights of the round table anyone? The dream of egality in the society. The amazing universities, where these ideals are realized in the common room, the mass, where we all meet as equals.
These egalitarian ideals, are at the very core of what England is. Then add the entrepreneurship of the British industrialists, the dreamers of innovation like sir Richard Branson, the positive caretakers at the NHS.
All these people could band together, and make a new England, based of the true faith of what England truly is.
Be courageous, be free, be honest in the challenges we meet.
There are plenty of problems ahead, not least the massive threat of UNCONTROLLED migration.
We need to reverse a bit of that development, and we can. But we need to do it with the utmost humanity.
Difficult decisions, and hard projects ahead, but it can be done, if we have faith in England, and the values there.
Joe, you are doing well. But, I know that I am pretty sharp in my opinions sometime, there is a reason for that.
The reason is, that we need to be sharp in understanding the issues ahead, and be clear about the priorities.
First of all, what I think Barack is right about, and what I have tried to support you guys is the fight for unity.
Unity is calling to what people share.
What do people share, they share the basis of the Democratic republic. That is the values and the virtues of that American dream.
So if you want to make people feel that they share something, find the things, that everybody agrees upon, are happy about, and proud about.
Now, don’t get my wrong, I am not saying that we should not help gays and Jews alike. I have been a dancer in many years, and therefor know a lot of gays, and they are a festive and in a way strange collection of peoples. But, and that is where you are right, they have a right to be recognized and protected.
So in order to support the liberal base, of cause we need to protect gays.
At the other hand, we ALSO need to find things that reaches across the aisle. That is the basis of the country.
There is a storm rising in the west that coming a potential war with China.
In this fight, people need to understand what is at stake. What is at stake is the freedom of the American people. Are we ready give that away. Be oppressed by a tyrannical state?
I think not.
At the other hand, we also need to see gays for their potential and freedom.
So we need to strike a balance with something everybody sees and understand, the values of Democracy, and see the gays as someone to protect.
Well, when things get out of hand spiritually as well as principly as things have in US lately, what do you do?
You go back to the roots.
The founding fathers, they had it right. They were descendants of the Italian Renaissance, where Hermeticism and Platonism was all the rave. I know, because I hold a dear connection to some of the knights of humanism.
So when people are in disagreement with what is up and down, you go back to the ideas of George Washington, why? Because those ideas of enlightenment and democracy are right.
In a way, the US is all that Europe WANTED to be, but couldn’t be, because we didn’t have the bright idealism you guys have.
So what are these ideas. Well, you see them defined in mr. Washingtons idea of a Republic. A Democratic institution, that see all peoples of the American electorate get a say. Ok such a great and big mass of people do not get so much to say, but ideally every citizen has a vote and a say.
This I think is the core of the United States of America. That great Nation of the brave and the free.
Here is another virtue you should both remember and cherish; Freedom.
To be free is what the citizens of the US was promised, and should therefor find each and everyone.
But at the core, there is the mission of the first pioneers. The very first settlers who sought for Israel.
What is Israel? Israel is the dream, the idea, that people can Iive in peace, side by side in harmony. Israel is paradise.
So why did the first settlers dream about that? They did it, because they KNEW, that it was possible to attain, that lofty dream and possible goal.
Is the paradise lost? Or is it still out there to be found?
That is what the US is all about, and trust me, it is difficult to realize, no doubt about that, but it is also possible. It is essentially a question of finding the right balance between all the different bodies and principle of the Nation; the law, the democratic institution, the religion. Make it into a whole, and you WILL find paradise.
At least this was the possible example of the first city, the city of Eridu or as we call it, the city of Eden.
G-d bless the peace and dreams we CAN find, if we try and try again. G-d bless the United States of America.
Well, that was a pretty good string of meetings Joe, to the point, and you made real progress with mr. Putin. Putin is a megapro. He knows how to play the game, and he is really good at it. At the core of his government, it is actually also a warm heart.
You know, Russians have always been villified by the West, especially under the cold war. But the fact of the matter is, that Russia and the US has much more in common than you would know at the surface. Where as the US started as a project 500 years ago, Russia started as a project 1000 years ago.
In Rus. Russians are really descendants of vikings coming from Scandinvia a 1000 years ago. They have had a rougher time than the Americans. Especially the Mongols were a scourge upon the Russians, but then the Russians took their free roaming spirit and turned it into the Kossacks, who swarmed over the steppes of Siberia. Kossacks are really close to cowboys in many ways. Vikings gone inland, shifting boats for horses. Some pretty amazing horsemanship and fighting skills of the Cossacks were displayed over the steppes.
So in a way there is the same kind of frontier spirit over both Russia and the US.
In the wake of the Trump administration this has been subdued, but it can easily be reawakened.
You see, the Russians really like the Cowboys, becaues they see some of themselves in it.
This was a difficult thing to promote when Trumps was president, now it has become a bit easier.
It will matter a lot when the showdown over China comes soon, and the showdown with the islamists in western europe as well.
Anyway, it seems that some rapport have been built with the leaders of Europe in general, and that is very important in this regard. They are extremely pressed on the security front and kind of caught between the wishes of the European Union and the public cry for security.
Hopefully Bennet makes it in the Middle East, so we will not have too many problems on that front. Hopefully we will make peace with mr. Putin, making that conflict less of a problem. Then we can focus on China, that is going hot in Taiwan, and Western Europe.
I know that it is a complicated picture, but we have to be able to see it for what it is, to make any progress. And we will.
G-d bless the will to be a peacekeeper and a strong defender of Democracy.
Well, it is time for a shift in politics, these are my recommendations for at first move in the vicinity of Israel.
Make friends with the neighbors. Egypt is the most important, due to the geographic border with Gaza.
Make friends with Sisi, show him appreciation and show that we appreciate his role as leader to one of the oldest and wisest cultures of the world.
Egypt has suffered for many years as difficulties and adversity has been the way things have been.
But deep in the memory of all Egyptians lie the memory of the golden era of Egypt. When the pyramids were built, when Egypt was the foremost country of wisdom. Sneferu, Akhenaten and all the other pharaohs.
It is through the lens of the understanding of the Egyptians as what they are, that we can maintain a friendship, the land of order and life.
Then do the same with the other countries around Israel, go to the Arab kingdoms and appreciate their culture and history. Give homage to the brazen desert warriors. Understand their fervent adoration of ethics and the right life.
Then go to Lebanon and water their cedar trees, as a recognition of the Phoenician heritage and their inherent beauty. And the go to Iran, to see, if there is still a bit of that Cyrus spirit. The spirit of valiant, ethical conduct. The spirit of doing the good deeds, speaking in a manner of good, and having good thoughts.
Understanding our neighbors is, to me, the key to peace.
There is a long way from Manhattan to Ur or Babylon, but people are the same everywhere, they want to be seen as who they are, and be respected in the their own right.
We in the West have given a lot back over the years through our research in the ancient cultures of the Middle East, understanding the wealth of culture in Egypt and other countries of the Middle East.
This understanding is now feeding back to the Middle East, and hopefully will renew its understanding of itself as the illustrious civilization it once was and now can be again.
This is the path to reach peace.
G-d bless the peace we can find in the Middle East.
Well Joe, things are shaping up. There are plenty of pitfalls ahead, but things are, more or less, back to normal. Normal being the state run by politicians with a good relation to the bureaucracy.
That is good.
Importantly, we need to look at the challenges ahead, in order to prepare.
Internationally, there are two main challenges, or rather, hopefully only one challenge.
First is the Middle East, secondly is the civilwar that is in its infancy here in Western Europe.
THE FIRST CONFLICT
First lets have a look at the Middle East.
Mr. Netanyahu is stepping down, yes it takes a few days or weeks, but mr. Naftali Bennet is gearing up for his own government.
How this is going to shape up, will be pretty evident in the first two to three weeks of his cabinet.
Mr. Bennet is a new kind of politician in some ways than Netanyahu, and in many ways he is just the son of mr. Netanyahu in political terms. And, Benyamin, sometimes it is ok to let the son take over the business, because, I mean look at the son you have got, he is SO skilled. So give him the best possible chance to do something with his presidentship. He has waited, now he is ready, so be a good dad, and give your political progeny a good chance to start.
That would show your pride in Bennet, and give him a good platform to base his initial political strides on.
The beginning is the hardest, and getting over the first 100 days can either make a platform like mr. Biden now has, or create no platform, so that the leadership cannot work.
Your choice, but power is only important if it in itself is progressive in the sense of giving the country a better future.
Maybe mr. Bennet is the future?
Anyway, I will try to help mr. Bennet in his first 100 days. Here is my first advice. Dont go too fast, dont go too slow. You need to progress with your vision in a steady but forcefull manner. Take your time, think it through, and then act.
Secondly, international politics is like a computer in the sense, that it is extremely complicated. It is a massive chess board, and there are some prette skilled players out there.
You can be outmanuevered in a short time, if you do not show skill in the game.
The Middle East is best understood, in the game, as a series of players who are ancient. Understand the Persians, the Arab, the Phoenician, the Egypt in biblical terms gone modern, and you will have sucess. Zionism in the original Lawrence of Arabia perpective is just that, a scholar on the ancient Middle East gone politician.
The Middle East loves that, the old ways, the traditions, the ideas of Babylon, Memphis, Ur, Zoroaster, Akhenaten, because that is Middle East tradition, and tradition runs deep in the Middle east.
THE SECOND CONFLICT
The second conflict to tackle mr. Biden, will be that of islamist insurgency in Europe. They are gearing, numerous terrorattacks in Belgium, France. It is a pot that is boiling over.
Here again, to me, it is VERY important to diffentiate between good muslims and bad muslims.
Islamic State are undemocratic and inhuman, liberal muslims of all colour are within the reach of democracy, and should be asked for dialogue.
So tackle the bad muslims and curry favor from the good muslims.
That is the plan at least, we will see how it will unfold. I do REALLY hope, that the trenches are not dug too deep, and the continent will go up in flames christians vs. muslims. But it can be isolated to a fight with only the terrorists.
But time will show.
The EU are planning on taking more migrants into Europe, that can only fan the flames. So we need to be vigilant, and see what will happen.
Then again, hopefully it will all just be small skirmishes, but probably larger conflicts will happen.
Anyway, we are out with a pretty good start, and hopefully we will keep our eyes on the ball, and keep America prosperous, equal and happy.
Because at the end, that is what it is all about, making a world where people are satisfied with their lives, and therefor just, happy.
