Writing a book is like sailing a ship, you start out on the voyage, and you have an idea about the destination, but at the end of the day, you often end up somewhere else, somewhere beautiful, otherwise the trip would be pointless.
So, I am starting this new book, for once just because I like it. It is not some work of duty, to save democracy or make a rebirth to religion, no it is something of an experiment, something that will give me a chance to discover new trends in writing, let me experiment with philosophical issues. For once it is actually not avant garde and ten years before its time, it is just a book, perhaps a good book, who knows, not a single word has been written yet, but I have done lot of thinking, and some of it has inspired my blogging, though, to be honest, my muse tells me, I should write about politics. It would be more to the point, considering the war in Europe and all the strife and pain we will experience.
But, I know it is a bit selfish, and probably not well timed, but I just need to consider the fact that writing is a source of energy for myself also, and if I do not write something unabashedly profane and lowbrow, something that is not immediately satisfying all the high brow critics, then why the heck not? I can do that, it is my right as an independent intellectual.
Enough of my babling. The idea is both simple and complex at once. I am going to write an action novel, but it will be based on ancient Danish mythology, and the ethic core of the novel, will a platonic discussion on justice.
I have done some research, and found a work, or story, that will, hopefully bridge the gap between Denmark and the Anglican world. I will retell the story of Hamlet, or Amled as he is called in Danish. So I suppose it ends up high brow and Oxfordian anyway. But, as Joseph Conrad, my yarn will be littered with action. With battles of grand vikings fighting for their glory and place besides Odin after their rise to Valhalla.
That is an enticing mix is it not?
We will see, at least it will tremendous fun to write.
G-d bless us, as we pray for our redemption and inspiration.
So we need a status on the current development in regards of the war between the descendants of the vikings and the sons of Allah. I love Egypt, I adore the beduins of the desert, so I do not take this conflict as an all out war, there are groupings of Muslims we fight, not all.
But we must admit, however we see it, that there is an enemy, even the most stubborn liberalist (me being one of them) must agree, that there is an enemy, and we need to fight it.
Being Europe, we also need to evolve along the way. It should not just be about what we fight against, but also about what we fight for.
This however, changes things. Because when you evolve, you come from one position, and you go to another position. This means leaving some ideas and accepting new ideas.
One thing I have noticed in the fight for our freedom, is the fact that we have become less and less corrupt. It struck me, when I learned about the idea of putrification, or fining. The idea, that when you are burned, what burns away is the corruption. Corruption breeds in stale water, while as honesty is found in the fight. In a sense this talks against the idea of peace, because the peace we strive for will most probably also breed corruption, at least if take our parents generations as an example.
Maybe I am wrong, but we should not be blind to this danger when we finally have peace again. If we reach peace, and then end up in corruption, it will all just have been for naught.
But right now, I can see, that the trend is less corruption, more transcendence, less manipulation. Read more…
Well, there is some discussion on the relationship between Israel and the ongoing feud between now France, The US, Denmark and the international caliphatists. Who is in the forefront?
We all are! I mean, we have our countries crawling with islamists. Their headquarter is in Rome, in London, in Gaza, they are everywhere.
So what does that make us? It makes us allies. We can be above below, leading, on the side, but at the end of the day, we are allies, that is all there is to it.
In France and in Denmark, it is pretty obvious that the islamists see the fight for freedom, democracy and justice interlinked with judaism. Well, maybe as a surprise to many Jews, this is actually the leading trend within the West right now.
We do not ally ourselves with the Jews because there is some deeper philosophical idea to it, it is simply because we fight on the same side.
But, personally I must admit, that in order to make this fight meaningful, it should be more than just fight over territory and security, that is why I dream the dream of Israel being the ultimate peacemaker, the center of the rise of all three monotheistic religions. All united in peace.
If it was only a defensive fight, what about the dreams of our forefathers? I admit, that Israels most important role is as a defense for all Jews, but why cant we be more ambitious? We need a world in peace, not in war.
We need to do something about the threats we meet, but the endresult should not be war, but peace.
So now we are here, another strike at the heart of freedom of speech, as in France, as in the US with the Two Towers. They want us to shut up, and implement their glorious caliphate, and we choose to concur, to reject, to say no, non, nej, njet, get out of our sight!!!
You can try to analyze it down to nothing, to forget about it, to blame it on me, but at the end of the line it is like this; it is rock or bust, it is getting into the fray or be killed, it is fighting or dying the slow lethargic death of the cowards.
We chose to stand, we despise you as you charge us, we laugh at your puny ideas and we will come and get you. Mark my words, we will rise again, we will shed the chains of multiculturalism, of the weakness someone wish to put on us, and we will get back on you. As of my right as Jew and as Dane I challenge you again, we will not surrender. You weak, stupid, disgusting cretin.
In the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, there is the fact, that the overall plan seems to have been lost to the conflict. Why is it really that Ukraine and Russia fight? Is it because of freedom? No, obviously Donetsk and Lugansk would, if they could choose, not be a part of Ukraine. So if there was anything meaningful, it would be to set them free. At the other hand, the conflict smacks of fear and old wounds. The U.S. Has been fast to pour in and help the nationalists, and Russia has been fast in strengthening the rebels in Lugansk and Donetsk. But why? I mean, we are facing a worldwide threat of IS, that is benevolently killing all who are in their way. They hold a huge power in the European mainland, and they are not shy of using it. Their methods are obviously taken from some nightmare novel, and they are uncompromising. If we look a few years into the future. It is pretty obvious, that the fight will increase especially in Central Europe, blood flowing in endless streams making the second and first world war joyful preludes in comparison.
So the mechanics of strategy and war gives a natural impetus for all of us to unite and not be divided. I mean, practically, if there is an enormous war at the doorsteps of Ukraine, what will be the probability of Europe coming to the rescue, or anyone actually? We cannot afford it, we are hard pressed ourselves. Even if we wanted, we simply could not.
In fact, it will soon be the other way around, we will come asking you for help, and you will be hard pressed not to give it, because of the inhumanity and the scope of the events.
The recent figures speaks for itself, according to the surveys I have read, European Muslims are all in for IS. This makes them enemies. Up to a quarter of citizens of France are Muslims. Look at Great Britain, it is the same, as holland, as Denmark, as Sweden. We have a huge number of enemies in behind our borders. Our security systems are so overwhelmed by the prospects, that they are overreacting and persecuting the most prolifent leaders who address the problem. Everybody are in panic. So should we then come to your rescue?
Look at it as it is, you are fighting your own brothers, they are kin. The more you fight, the deeper the wounds will be. You now have a tiny chance to stop the meaningless slaughter and come to terms.
You will be needed elsewhere in the coming fight, and the more we fight with each other, the more weakened will we be when the storm comes.
I cannot promise you anything, and you are wronged by cutting too much into Ukraine. I can only tell you, that perhaps the future events will make the current conflicts look ridiculous, and make us wish there was otherwise.
As in Israel, mr. Netanyahu was weakened by not fighting the Gazans to the end, but the world won by realizing the threat of IS.
I wish I had more to give, but the storm is coming, and we need to be prepared.
To understand how to make peace, you need to understand what things are. Knowledge and diplomacy are two forces interlinked. As in the diplomatic sucess the US has had with Iran, it can have the same with Russia, it just needs to understand how the thinking goes in Russia to find the right ideas and ways to make a peace. We did it before, we can do it again.
So who are the Russians really? On the surface, everybody sees a Communist superpower gone down, now trying to regain its power. But is this really what is happening? Russia is not a Communist superpower, it is Russia.
Even under the Communist era, it was still Russia, and Communism was an ideology, but if you dug a little under the surface, you would find, that Russia did not disappear, it was still there with all its tradition, with its fondness for ballet, with its ideas of warmth, with its ancient pride as tall men of the north with a mix of slavic identity. It revers and idolizes the great scholars of Dostoyevsky and Tolstoy. We know it here in Denmark, because we also have had a lot of good connections with the Russians over the millennia, even to the extent that we exchanged queens and hospitality many times. Denmark and Russia has been friends and kin for a long time. Our young prince is called Valdemar, as his forefather, who was originally called Vladimir.
Now, there is one thing that people have never understood with the Russians, and that is why each and every attempt on dominating Russians have failed, as the feeble attempt on dominating Russia with tradebarriers will not work. I mean, both Napoleon and Hitler attacked Russia with far superior weapons, and still Russia was victorious, so why would trade blocks work? It is silly. No, Russians have, since the first fall of Ukraine and the first Russians been suffering over and over again. By the Mongols, by the Europeans, but the Ottoman, and as a result, it has grown into accustomed to it, even made a philosophy to underpin the suffering, Russians call it fining (рафинирование). Each war is seen as a chance to grow into something even stronger, expanding the Rus to the farthest corner of the Globe. Remember, Rus, started as a viking state, and is now the greatest country in the world. This has cost blood in streams so unimaginable, that we as central Europeans cannot begin to understand it. This is why pressure does not work with Russia, only diplomacy works.
So, why did Mr. Putin, all of a sudden choose to work with France and Germany? Because he is also a man of peace, we should see the pattern in this, in our dealings with him in Iran, in his ways in Ukraine, where he could, if he chose, just use some of the more dangerous weapons and end the war in short term. He is basically a man of honor.
The way mr. Putin sees the world, is a fight between light and darkness, of chaos and order. Him being the caretaker of the light and the order. Why? Because Russians are independent, but in wartimes have grown used to strong leaders protecting them. He is serving that age old role as a defender of the Rus, as the father of Russia, as the strong, unflinching protector of all who are Russian. He despises weakness and corruption, he admires strength and honesty. Read more…
Concerning the peacedeal in Kiev, I propose one strange admission. In the beginning of the conflict, the brave nationalist went into the fray. They say, that there is no thing as a nation of Ukraine, I defy them. There is, it should be a choice made freely, but regarding Ukraine, it should, in the western part be based on the culture of the old.
It should reflect the vikings and their values, of freedom and democracy. Of strength and honesty. In the olden times all men met at the thinge, here we held discussion on things and battles were fought. This idea reflects the lofty and beautiful ideas of Athens, complementing the freedom in each case.
So when it falls on discussing the frame of Ukraine, it must be a frame of freedom.
G-d bless you all, and may you all find peace through josting with words not swords.
We have become corrupt in Europe, there was a time, when we sung about the freedom and the fight against tyranny. Now we scrabble about, craven and afraid of our own shadows.
This is really the difficulty facing the Ukraine conflict. We do not come into it with honesty and truth, but through means of manipulation.
Only if we become what we once were; fighters for freedom and honesty, of nationhood and brotherhood, of equality and humanism can we effectively solve our problems.
We all eye each other with suspicion, a leftover from the cold war, and the opposition between capitalism and communism. I urge you to see, that we should not enter the conflict as comrades or businessmen, but as citizens. As scions of that great civilization that France gave us, as democrats and honestly believing in the peoples of Europe, believing in their right to remain free and unbound, to be equal with us, not unwieldy problems we have to wrangle with.
Let our inner gendarm rip us free from the prison of the second world war, and let everybody free.
When you fight for your life, in the face of mortal danger, you hop and skip and do your best to be looking for the small door, that might be at the end of that dangerous path you are trying.
When you are out on open sea, and the wrath of the storm seeks you out, and you do your best to steer your little boat, using your immense skill, and you feeling for the waves, to guide your decrepit boat, you sometimes fall upon a hidden cliff beneath the vawes, and your boat starts pounding away on that underconscious reef, chipping at your boat, that is only made of plastic and tar.
Then you pray, you stand up in your tiny rocking boat, and you pray for the almighty to save you, to tear away the hidden anchorlines tying you to the dangerous reef, you elevate into the realm of G-d, and you promise all your might and service to be saved by his grace. You pray and you lift your chin to the creator to call him to descend upon mankind and help and give his blessing to all who see themselves as men. Save the human race from folly and destruction, give us another chance, stop us from burning down Sodom and Gommora, because there are some honest men here, perhaps not perfect, but at least striving for peace, trying to make amends, make ends meet, help instead of just taking, giving instead of just grasping for more power.
We make amends, and we fight he promises, to convince G-d that there is still hope for mankind, and we can make peace, we are not just gruesome IS fighters using blackmail and manipulation to control, not just the secret police severing the loved one of our heroes, not just the sycophants of the media, not just the craven juglers of politics thinking of only their own careers. There is more to mankind, there is love and providence, and beauty, there is fairness and care and healing, there is the helping hand of a man helping his neighbour, there is acceptance and time for our children, there is honesty and solidarity, there is humbleness and understanding.
This is man, not the evil and egoism we see around us, not the warmongers and the power seekers, but the simple honest man. As he extends his hand to make peace.
Make peace, not war, understand on the premises of love and brotherhood not on egoism and selfishness.
G-d said, remember; you are my son.
And I believe that only through the realization of this; that we are all sons of G-d, can we relieve ousrselfs from the chains af the material world. Be in his image, share his benevolence and fairness. Be joyful and happy. We are all the sons and daughters of G-d and we should, for our own sakes remember that.
If you, once in a while, have the exquisite priviledge to meet the spirit, you must be an oracle. Or what? Maybe being an oracle is about knowing the past, thereby getting an inkling at the future. Maybe it is just the vanity of a too intellectually burdened genius hovering over everybody else, as he uses his abilities to further the providence of man.
It might be either, it might be or, but the effect of the oracleship, the Umin and Thumin, the grace of Delphi is as much shaping the future as predicting it.
Kabbalists are very proud of the late Kabbalist rav Ashlag. He predicted the rise of Israel, he envisioned the coming of peace, he had all the ideas that Israel is thriving on, and should realize, at least as we kabbalists see it.
But, perhaps his genius is not in the fact that he predicted it, but the fact, that he shapes the future according to his will.
I am hard pressed these days. After the fall of the journalists of Hebdo, I have had a wrangling with the secret police here in Denmarks. So far they have been trying to shut us all up, and I have been fighting them, to make space for some of my friends, and to survive myself. The lying, evil KGB of Denmark, seems to shipwrecked on my rocky shore. Falling apart, man and mice leaving the ship tumbling about in the gale, flying about as they lie for their own security.
As a prophet, of all three monotheistic religions I say this; look in the darkness and you see evil. Those who manipulate, try to steer away from the all seeing eye of the overlord of the angels of wrath, they are the darks sons of evil. I know, I look them in the eye, and I do not bow. Not with any weapon of their evil quiver thrown upon me. I do not bow.
And I curse them, they will see their soul rotten in the afterlife, seeping with festering wounds, caught up by infamy and evil as they are brought heavenly justice.
We fight on, the prophet of old said, as Jerusalem fell, and the days of Israel was over. We fight on, because one day the hero of the Danes will come and save us, they said, the Ezekiel’s, the Jeremiahs, the prophets of old. Ever since that time, we have awaited the hero to come and free us, and save Israel, and set free mankind, in an everlasting peace frome therein to eternity.
But he has come, several times, and I believe, as a prime scion of the Danes, a halfdane in fact, with a mix of Semitic blood and that that of Danes, that he will always come in times of need. As Matatias, as David, as Solomon, because it is a cultural trait within the descendants of the Danes.
Let me give you a story. Before the Danes came to Israel or rather to the Middle East the first time, we held stories. Stories about a thing called Ragnarok, a time when heaven and earth would fall together in a apocalypse so devastating only the best and brightest came through. We called the hero Shield of the Danes, and we dreamed about his coming.
Still some of our descendants dream about it in a place called Israel. But now they call him the Messiah, but believe him to come from the Danes, or rather him being the shield of the Danes.
Same story, just clothed in a different garment.
I am not the shield of the Danes, I am its backbone and crutch its goalkeeper and bright knight, it’s last dyke and yes, it’s hero.
So I am so much a hero for the Jews as for the Danes, because it is the same story, just understood by different strands of the Danes. Old and new, halfsemitic and only that; Danes.
But to understand the implication, you also have to understand the feel of that shield of the Danes. Call him Holger Danske or Christian the X. You need to know, that when he comes, he will not be a miser or a bullpit fighter. He will be as the shield of the Danes, the heroes of old; bold and free. Laughing and enjoying the fight. Not a miser, not a gothic, destructive person, but a person reveling in the joy of freeing the men earth. A person with so much extra energy, that he will laugh as he enters the fray. That was the feel of the old heroes, and this should be the feel of the new heroes; kjæk and bold.
This leaves us the basic realization, that we can all be heroes, if we wish. We are a culture of heroes. Understood in the sense, that we look for our heroes, and all young men with a certain energy wish to be that hero. We are a culture of worshipping the best of us.
That is why, the Messiah is not the only hero, we can all be heroes if we have what it takes. Why wait for only one? Why not, each and all of us, sit down and look for the hero besides us, and make him be a hero?
We are heroes if we have what it takes, all of us, because this is the meaning of shielding the Danes.
Well I Ihink we have come a little way in England with the great rennaessance, but we have also confronted our first challenges.
If you are brave, as I truly think his excellency Welby is, then you have to fight the monsters that confront you. If you enter a fight, you have to accept, that you will get hit. That is the way it is with fighting for something, be it physically or intellectually. But the very fact that you do fight, gives everybody around you the feeling that you are alive, and you are moving somewhere.
As I begun my theoretical discussion on the Anglican church, I believe I will repeat it; you are walking on a very fragile shell. You have to be careful not to move too fast or too forceful, you need to remember the discussions and the negotiations is not about your own selfinterest, but in the interest of the world, of mankind, of nature, of the church. You are only the servants of the realm of G-d, if you lose the connection to that inspiration, you will fail. Always pray and listen to the purity of the lord. Hear his voice of healing as well as urge to fight for his realization. Open up to his love and positive inspiration.
It is not about war or power, it is about love. Yes you should have heated discussion, yes you should be focused and believe in many things, but at the end of the day the very project is not the process, it is the aim of harmony and fellowship brought by walking not alone, but with your fellowman in company.
How do you do that? You do it by evolving along the lines of the discussion. We see, that there is a confrontation bethween the church and the Torys, in other words a confrontation between metaphysics and politics.
So we need to understand both theories, how they intermingle, and how they actually support each other. I will give you an example.
When Lot returned to the city of Sodom, he was there all alone in the interest of G-d. He pleaded with G-d that if only one was on his side, in the city of destruction egoism and selfabsorbneds, the city would be preserved. He was run out of the city by the citizens, and G-d destroyed the city.
So what is the point? The point is; to have a city (polis), you need honest men and women. This is the charge of religion; to inspire for honesty, loyalty, sincerety.
So polis (politics) and religion goes hand in hand, and in fact if that is not so, the city will fall.
G-d bless the city of London, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool and Oxfordshire.
The brave will inherit the World, as we say here in Denmark. In other words, the coward will fall.
We have seen it over and over again. How the brave have ultimately won the wars.
It spells ill for Europe, or at least Central Europe, because it is so filled with cowards, that they fall over each other to cave in to whatever threaten them.
There are, however some good signs. As always, it is France that lead the revolutions. The mix of idealism and a very very high level of intellectualism fuels the revolution. What happens in France right now, will set the pattern for the rest of the conflict. That is why the Charlie Hebdo attack was so important. The countries not directly hit by the onslaught can entertain the idea, that they will not be hit within the close vicinity of their future. But, they will be tought another lesson, and consequently follow in the footsteps of France.
What to look for is bravery, in the situation where people are scared, they will look for the brave to lead them. Manipulation, craven manners or the like will not be popular.
So far, luckily, the progress is along state lines. We have not had many huge violent uprisings. But as I said, this will come, if the states do not listen to the people. It is not a threat, it is a fair warning, and, honestly, being a man of peace, I say it, so that the politicians can change course, and avoid the situation. The seriousity of the situation taken into consideration, shooting the messenger is not a viable solution.
Finally, let me give my sincerest condolations to the lately deciesed king Abdullah. Your eminence tried to make peace, and let us all hope that his son will be a man of peace as well.
If you want to predict the future, you need to know your past. How is the past of Europe? It is a string of revolutions, counterrevolutions, wars, mayehem, deaths and progress.
Through that burning kettle of both ideas and warfare, has the world progressed and made a truly magnificient cultural development, like the Middle East.
This cauldron of ideas has produced; Christianity, Lutheranism, Democracy, Communism, Industrialism, Nazism, Facism, The Roman Empire, The greek Empire, The Freestates, on and on it goes for five thousand years.
And now the leaders have decided they want peace, by seducing the people into shutting up with television and the “Lügenpresse”. Add to this decided to throw in some of the most revolutionary peoples of the Middle East into the mix, who have exactly the same “dynamic” understanding of the world. That is a continuing flux of ideas warring each other.
So what are the chances for peace? Nil, or close to nil.
As I see it, what we can do, is try to steer the process of war and peace into the most peaceful path. Instead of an all encompassing apocalypse we are steering straight towards with the current system, we can make a less painfull process, where we target the problems precisely.
Unfortunately, this view has been the most unpolitically correct, because, in order to understand the most peaceful way, we actually need to understand what is going on.
To the socalled peacemakers of the European Union, this has been against their strategy, where manipulation and misunderstanding has been the tool. Read more…
Congratulations mr. president for a beautiful speech, it will be very difficult getting results, but, looking back at the last six years, the projects we have commenced are shaping up, and are realized in true progress. Especially the economical development of the US is a testimony to the fact, that our project is good. Still, realizing peace in the Middle East would, potentially, secure the presidency for the future as a turning point for the US.
Things are heating up in Europe. The islamists are slowly being cloaked off, as the cold war systems lose strength and the war becomes hot.
There are some serious realizations Europe has to do to counter the muslim state ideology. We are talking about a political version of Islam, that seems to be willing to go to any lenght to get their way, and they are many.
When this has finally been realized, one way or the other, we can finally start counterworking their ideas here in Europe, but Bobby Jindal is right, and, I am sorry to say mr. Cameron, you have to suit up, and get ready for the onslaught. London is a hotbed for international islamist recruiting and financing. England as such is on the verge of collapsing under the strain, and the secret police has just begun to dig in the corners. When they realize, that 80 % of the Muslims in the UK are islamists, they will have to come up with some serious problemsolving, and that problemsolving will include the armed forces.
At the same time, happily, the church of England seems to be on the right course, and so in the fight, we still have some positive results of the crackdown on the Islamists. But as Enoch Powell said, it will be rivers of blood.
Better start arming before that fight, ideologically and materially.
Philosophers are not supposed to be politically correct, we are supposed to see and say things other people are not able to. That is why I say; be prepared, the Charlie Hebdo massacre was just the begining, it will escalate.
G-d bless us all, in the face of the war we are entering.
There is a lot of problems in Europe these days, as a prophet of a kind, in the old Jewish mold, I believe, that my predictions have come through, and the path that I have laid out is the path mankind, at least the European kind, is walking. In slow beats, down that path, full of thorns and yet with a bright little star at the end, illuminating our worried and wrinkeld chins.
Mankind will always walk in the shadow of evil, trying with each step, to be a little closer to the light, but the valleys are full of desolation and mediocracy.
Now, as a forethought, I believe, that the European people have chosen my path due to the realization, that if you live in the valley of darkness, true light is the only salvation. Honesty, beauty and love is the only path out of darkness. At the other hand, I believe, that darkness has to be fought. In the study room of Jesus Christ, that wise old Jew, there was this story about the end of times, and how good and evil would stand facing each other in that final Ragnarok, in that final trial of mankind. At the end of my trial, we will see if that is so, if we really stumbled and fought our way through all those dark encounters, where we tried and suffered and lost all, just to regain a little.
But that little is the quality of life, and peace.
Let there be light, the old Jew said, let there be kindness he said, let there be love he said. And all arose to meet him in his embrace, because they thought he was right, and peace finally would descend upon mankind. But then he said; you will have to fight first, fight your own prejudice and frailty, your own enemies.
G-d bless all, who are willing to sacrifice themselves for the poor and the needy, for the right causes, and for beauty, not just for power.
There is an ongoing discussion in England between the Anglican Church and the current prime minister of Great Britain. To try and elevate and understand the discussion in a deeper theoretical sense, I would like to try and build a basis under it.
First of all, the current political policies, that has changed the economical situation of the realm, is coined in a kind of anti free market thinking, with respect of free market thinking. So to really understand the current policies, you have to embrace economics. Economics used to be Keynes against Adam Smith. Keynes defining an incentive policy for mainly the Democratic of Socialdemocratic part of the political sphere, and Adam Smith recommending a free market theory to the conservatives.
This changed in what we know as Obamanomics. A mix of Puritan no nonsense saving policy, and a focused help on the patriotic business and production companies of the nation.
So in a sense, this is actually the very conservative part of the policies that Obama has implemented in the US. It has helped the country tremendously, we are looking at five percent growth per annum. The deeper calculus in this idea has been, apart from the ideas that spurred me in the book where Adam Smith talks about ethics as the base of society, an analysis of the strengths of western culture. We are free and creative. This gives us a clear advantage in the area of research and development. We are very good at inventing things and coming up with new ideas. Exactly the quality we are fighting for in the Hebdo controversy, the freedom to challenge the taboos and realizing new ideas. But, if we redistribute the production of our new ideas to cultures that are often enemies, we will undermine our own strengths, in effect giving our own progress to our enemies. So we need to haul our production facilities back, and put that great mark of our products saying Made in America or Made in England. This idea follows the ideology of the business environment, who are often old fashioned bible thumping, family based dynasties, who are proud of their contribution to the society, and see their mission more as a service to the nation than a money piling business. We pray for redemption, we understand that the end is near, we relive the destruction of our temples, and yet there is hope for another round of fighting in the phalanx of ligth. Be that hero of justice, of good and spirit.
Yet we concur and take another step, jumping from stepstone to stepstone, trying to survive.
There is good news in the papers today, the spiritual guides seems to whisper. Another redemption, another round in the ring is being prepared, because we have faith. Faith in spirit, and faith in the afterlife.
We know that one day, the almighty father in heaven will relive the mission to us earthbound, in search of his blessing. He will once again stand there with all his might and joy, telling us humble beings, that we will we go forward in his light. Once again is there space for us bening beings at his side. Once again will we believe in him, to turn another page in that long forgotten tale of old. To understand that he be with us, as our crutch, as our hailing and guiding star, as our lighthouse, as our belief in spirit, good and all that is full of joy and love.
Once again will we turn our tired chins to the light, and be warmed in his ligth, to know, that we as people, yes people of the earth will relive his spirit in our tiny hearts, and as these hearts grow in love and kindness, will he, again prowl the earth, and give the humans their blessing.
Once again will we be saved by his grace, because we have found his will and his tender yet strong helping hand. Once again will we rise as men, be humane and gentle, be honest and simple, be disciples of his grace in his gaze. In one with all that is beyond our recogning and understanding. Once again will freedom and honesty reign the earth, as his will is heard beyond the farthest reaches.
May you, my dearest friend be blessed as all are willing to sacrifice humanity in the dirtiest war seen ever.
You can reach an understanding of what it is to be a familyman through recognition of what is really the core conflicts in family life. I have done a lot of work with children at the age of eight to ten. Right now I work as a caretaker of two boys who have a lot of problems, one even is not able to feed, but has to get food through a tube.
Their family is really broken, divorce and so on. What has lead to this extreme situation? It is basically a fight between good and evil in the family. Violence, egoism and abuse.
My little daughter Rakel she is now almost three years old. She has this tendency to try and get her way all the time. So we fight over what she should eat, NO NO CANDY!, and little things as when to leave the table, and be a nice, sharing and loving person. She is only almost three, so this fight with her, to put some moral fibre in her, is normal and just a part of any normal upbringing.
The families where abuse and violence occurs, does not do it this way however. They let the children do whatever they want, and as a consequence, they go wild. They go and do what nature programs us for, the rule of the strong. They start seeing, that getting your way, without regard to a fellowmans wellbeing is in fact fun, you can easily get stronger, and you can enrich yourself at the cost of your neighbor.
This is where evil starts, it starts by people disregarding the very basis of society; that everybody should accept that they are their brothers keeper, and not their thief.
Corruption is always in the dark. Remember, we, from a religious perspective, talk about the angels of light, fighting against the dark lords? What are we talking about, and why are they dark? Because they live of lies, deciet, cunning, and hate, yes they hate the truth.
Let me give you an example. My mother died five years ago. At the same time, my best friends mother died. A few months ago, the father of one of the leading lights of the conservative movement, his father died too. They all died prematurely. Another one of the people in the fight against radical Islam, his wife, died not very long ago, prematurely, mystically. See the picture?
This new occurence, where an islamcritic had his father killed, had some interesting features. Just before his father died, his brand new car was torched. It represented his income, because he works as a tour guide in the summer. So it is an increase in torture and pressure, ending up in killing his father. What do all these incidences have in common? It has in common, that we are all critical towards Islam, from different political perspectives. So it cannot be the left wing killing all the islamcritics.
It all points to the other major player in the persecution of islamcritics in Denmark; the police. They are openly against all who critisize Islam. Numerous times have they, themselves, staged trials to try and quell the criticism. As with my friend Firoozeh, who were convicted a racist, because she criticized Islam as a painter, being a muslim herself!
So, in all probability, the police have been, secretly, killing the supports of the islamcritics, trying to quell the intellectuals.
And now, the politicians are discussing, how to give them more ressources to protect us. Does it make any sense?
Not before the police themselves change their attitude, will the islamcritics be protected.
G-d bless the light of the few remaining prophets.
You know, I never really wanted to be a writer, one day, I just happened to be one. I woke up one morning, with another psychich headache and a strange sense of satisfaction of actually realizing some worth of my life, helping someone, doing a simple chore as a philosopher, doing some good, and I realized I was a writer. It just kind of came.
Being an artist is not fun, in fact I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. Your life is never stable, you always try to get on, and you always worry about your economy. But it is a good life, because you see things. Your friends are even worse bohemes than you. Some live on the streets from time to time. You may think Bukowski, the famous drunk poet, is cool from a distance, but living together with him is a nightmare. But he is a friend nevertheless, and he is alive.
This way of free wheeling and, honestly, very costful for the soceity, life, is what the Islamists and, so far, the guiding Socialdemocrats helped by the secret police, have wanted to stop. To clean out. All these too strange people, with their long dirty hair, yes dirty, as in D.I.R.T.Y., you know unkept and even smelling hair, should be stopped. We do not need them, they show no sensibility. How do we get rid of them? Well, ok, we will leave them without protection, and you can then threaten them all you will. So you KILLED them, why did you do that? Couldnt you just have kept on threatening, why did you have to make them martyrs? That was stupid, now we even have to truly protect them, just to keep the electorate happy. Maybe not that much, but just for the show. But please cant you just stop killing them, it is bad for business, and the dangerous RIGHT WING! Will steal our dwindling electorate bases, please, pretty please.
Well, a few of us have actually survived, and seen the day, when you, yes you, the people actually stood up, and truly supported us. I knew it would be difficult to survive, but I thought if I just kept a comparably low profile, it could work. I could guide the process from behind, and change the course slowly. You know, I know it is presompteous, and probably bad taste. But I did it! I managed to keep all the jackals at bay, keeping the fire lit, and now, after the people have come out in millions to my support, and my fellow artists, the politicians have to support us. The game has been won, it cost me my mother, my sister, most of my friends, my career, but I did it. I did it!
The politicians bargained on the strategy of suppressing everybody, the artists, the journalists, the freethinking spirits, in order to feed the islamists, slowly with our demise. But, the strategy does not work anymore, simply because, you, the electorate, have been too sickened by their devious and disgusting methods. When their plans came to fruition and people actually started dying, you stood up, and defended us. In a strange way, you forced the politicians to move with you, because they were too afraid, or too moved by the event, thereby creating a wave so strong, that all the pickering and fidgeting with the purses of the poor intellectuals, have been swept away.
So this is something to celebrate. Ok, I have not seen a single policeman in my vicinity, ever, not even after the Charlie shooting. The politicians talk about the importance of SYNCHRONIZING THE FLIGHTCHECKS, as if that would really help me. Just one little, teeny weeny camera with an alarmbell at the targets of the islamists, would, in a cold cost benefit analysis, come out a bit cheaper, and MUCH more efficient at keeping the lives of the artists and journalists. But, oh no, that is not really in the plans, keeping flight checks synchronized is probably a much better idea.
But, look at it this way. Untill you start actually doing something serious about it, your voters will slip away. I hold that gun in your face, as you hold your gun into my face. I will take your voters away, untill you actually offer me some protection. Got it? I will take away your job, your prestige, your fine fancy car, your own flying jet, if you do not take that gun away from me, and start aiming at the islamists instead. Got it?
G-d bless the will to survive despite increasing levels of danger.
Ok, so we have had one of the most important failures of the police, ever. Twelve cartoonists have been gunned down in France, and everybody who are intellectuals and criticize Islam is in peril, especially artists and journalists. In Denmark, the police has chosen to work with the Islamists, and leave the artists at their own resources. Often very, very few resources, because we are bohemes most of us, and therefor not able to live very well of our own work. Add to this a great scare of dealing with us, you get the picture. No security at all.
This seems to be all honky dory with the police, still no protection. Well perhaps some, such as the infiltration of EVERBODYS computers. How come that the police seem to be thinking that they REALLY need to know what everybody is thinking and doing, because of security needs off cause. But when it comes to actually protecting the people they have been charged with, then the need seems, all of a sudden, to dissappear. Perhaps because they just really like to know everything, and sit on their flat behinds, taking all the money, living in grand buildings, and then doing absolutely nothing to protect the cartoonists, the bloggers, the writers in harms way. No, rather they seek to shut them up, so that they, again are able to sit on their flat behinds, doing absolutely nothing. Why is it really, they seek to shut up the intellectuals, despite the fact, that this is, specifically what they are charged to do, and payed to do?
It is because it makes their own lifes so much more easy. Just shut up seems to be the point, and then they can go back to drinking coffee, playing chess, or perhaps that is too challenging a game?
It is because they are lazy, are not willing to actually do their jobs, and are afraid of the consequences. Much more easy just try to shut up the intellectuals.
Will someone please do something to this pathetic bunch of people, either sack them or at least put them on a short leash. Or just start all over again, begin from scratch, and rethink security again. Instead of investing huge amounts of resources in high tech surveillance. Which is, honestly, immoral, and against all legal rules. Protect the people in danger! How difficult can it be?
It is just beyond, belief, that the police can get away with being so stupid after the Charlie Hebdo shooting. We are at war! Act like it, or just say goodbye to your well payed job, and do something else. For heavens sake, this is absurd.
In these times, where the basic principle of democracy is opposed to islamism, it is of a vital importance that we unite. The more of us there are, the harder it will be to fight us. If we are few, they have succeeded, if we are many, the fear tactics does not work. So I bring, along with most other newspapers in Denmark, the frontpage of the next issue of Charlie Hebdo. This is a defining moment, Europe is once again able to think for itself, and act accordingly. And, as is also European tradition, it comes in a rush of emotion and revolution! Vive la France!
So finally the political establishment is ready to talk secret police, or just police in regards to the freethinking and often provocative artists, bloggers, journalists, cartoonists and so on.
We are different, I am a liberal conservative, Hedegaard is a liberal marxist, Uwe is a liberal socialist, Jalving is a liberal conservative, Firoozeh is a liberal liberal. We have just one thing very much in common; we are liberals. We are diehard liberals.
We need protection, because we are the kings and queens of democracy. Look at it this way; the guiding principle of a royal house is off cause the ideas of the king or the queen. So an attempt at ridiculing the king or the queen is an attempt on the state as such. In a democracy, the philosophers and different artists who fight for democracy using freedom of speech to criticize and challenge the system, they are the most prestigious and most important. Not because of vanity, but because the embody the good principle of democracy; challenging the taboos to develop the society at large.
So, as the queen is protected in Denmark, by the police, the defense and so on, the liberal artists who challenge the system should be protected the same way. In Denmark we have democratic/royal system. So there are two sets of dignitaries to protect.
What about the politicians. Well off cause they should be protected, but the intellectuals should be protected more, because we draw more fire, literally. Why? Because the enemies of democracy will off cause target the core of the system. It is like in the second world war; killing Hitler would have made the second world war over, or Churchill. It is in this light, that the Charlie Hebdo attack should be seen, and in this light, that the lack of security should be seen. Would the police allow the islamists as close to the queen of Denmark as they let them get close to the cartoonists? Never! The entire policeforce and military would sacrifice themselves before the islamists could get to the queen, as is of cause right and important, since she embodies the principle of the royal house.
In practise however, it is a bit more difficult. Most of us artist are living normal lives, we have children in the kindergarten, jobs that are no always compatible with a high security risk. I have a job as a caretaker of handicapped children, and many of my colleagues are without jobs, simply because it is very difficult to get a job, when the employer runs a very big risk employing you. Some do not care, live on the streets, some are so famous they can live from their art, some go on the dole.
My point is, there are many different situations at hand with liberals who are so diehard, that they are willing to risk everything to criticize, we are an odd, often strange collection of people with very different needs.
In these times of insecurity and yet hope, one may try to understand which way we might chose to create a better world.
According to the philosopher Anaxagoras, G-d chooses the most complex and beautiful way. It is like civilization. Is civilization simple or complex? Civilization is off cause complex, that is why the world needs philosophers, because philosophers reduce the complexity into something understandable. He syntethises many layers of understanding and many variables into complex and yet balanced systems. As democracy in a French variant. It is complex and beautiful; rationality, humanism, freedom of expression, the social contract, the spirit of the laws. Advanced, beautiful thoughts.
This advancement will often have to fight simplicity, or the simple answers. As now with the Islamists. The Islamists believe that a crude and ruthless interpretation of the roots of Islam is the answer. The lure lies in the simplicity. It is easy to understand; the bright, simple way of ridding the world of impurity and leaving only the ethical and sound.
But is it right? No it is wrong, because G-d seeks not simplicity, he seeks the understanding of all the virtues involved, of all the differences, of all the complexities of the world.
Look at the soaring eagle, as it flies above us. Is that a simple creature? No the beauty of that creature lies in the fact, that it is absolutely in tune with its surroundings, it flies in extremely complex patterns, each feather adjusted to the wind and the ability to fly.
This is the way of G-d, and only if we really shed the blindfolds, will we be able to truly accept and be in full connection with the world of G-d.
It is easy to kill and destroy, it is difficult to construct.
Those who do construction are those who are in favor of G-d, otherwise we will not understand the ups and downs of the spiritual realm.
Well, it is to me clear, that there are different trends within Europe, one is the pro democratic, antiislamistic trend. It sees human rights tread upon by the muslim militants, and fight to see humanism and good order restored. The other trend is a violent and propagandistic trend, where all criticism against Islam, being the most innocent kind is attacked by all who are state sponsored and the cultural elite. This smacks of totalitarian methods and is most prevalent in the countries that are traditionally unfree.
So you have Sweden, Germany and Holland in one end, and France, Great Britain and Denmark in the other end.
But the two trends are really intermixed in each country. There are elements of persecution of people who defy the islamic conquest, and elements of democracy and freedom as well. These two trends seem to collide on numerous occasions, and this is really what makes us weak. We are fighting ourselves because of our own cowardice. Because this is really what it all is. If we had the courage to look the dragon in the eyes, we would not have the urge to start trampling those who are able to look the dragon in the eyes. We would all look the dragon in the eyes, and see it for what it is.
There is a huge recognition of the failure of the police in the Charlie Hebdo case. Well, seen from a Danish perspective, and truly we are very much in the liberal camp, the police is acting directly against all those who criticize Islam. From me, to my friend Uwe, to Lars Hedegaard, to my friend Firoozeh. We are all totally exposed, the secret police seek to, with different means to force us out of the debate. From using agents to ruin our families, over the Capone method (using the tax system to take our money), to torturing our children. So you want the police to protect us, while they are doing all the can to either kill us or at least stop our voices?
To me this seems to be a bit of a contradiction.
When we are unprotected, off cause this makes it easy to kill us, as has happened numerous times, especially in Holland, and now in France. And do not think it is by coincidence, the police knows everything about security, remember, this is their profession.
I will give you and example. The Danish cartoonist, that made the most prominent drawing of Mohammad with a bomb in his turban, mr. Vestergaard. He was, after that, left without protection in his house. All he had was a kind of a security room. One day a man with an axe simply stepped into his house and started swinging away. By sheer luck, mr. Vestergaard got to the security room, and managed to ring the alarm. So the attacker started trying to force the door open, but was apprehended by the police ten minutes after. TEN MINUTES AFTER! Meanwhile the granddaughter of mr. Vestergaard was crying in the living room. So much for protection.
It had to come didn’t it? The attack on freedom of speech, the sad tales of all the courageous journalists lying in their own blood pools, the callous response to a man lying on the ground claiming to be Muslim, and then shot in cold blood. The fear, the trembling, the realization, that this will never end, until we as a civilization realize what is basically on stake.
Seen from the ivory tower, this was what I knew would come, I warned about it a few days ago, but now when it is here. There is no feeling of “I told you didn’t I”. Just the sad feeling of remorse and the tears that creep to ones eyes, when you think about all those courageous persons continuing on their quest for the freedom of our democracies, of our societies.
To me this is not a time to start pointing fingers. Blaming the stupid politicians creating the situation, or being bitter on the police for not seriously protecting the few remaining die hard intellectuals, or blaming the leftists for being too weak and understanding. This is a time for unity. A time for forgetting all that makes us different, and start remembering what binds us together.
It has two roots. One the Viking, two the Hellenic. The Franks, the Anglosaxons, the Danes, the Germans, the Rus and many more held to the belief, that freethinking was something worth. In our Free States, intellectuals were called by that name in the olden times freethinkers, because this was what intellectuals did; thought out of the box, were critical, challenged the old ideas. This is what has developed us as civilizations, each new generation, building on the former to elevate our societies. For five thousand years has this happened.
The other root is Hellenic. It comes down to Socrates through Voltaire.
When they thought to kill Socrates, because he would not shut up. He, said ok, no problem, I will take that cup of hemlock. I will continue criticizing you, not because of any bad will, but because how are we to grow, if we cannot look our own stupid ideas in the eyes? How are we to be free, if we cannot speak freely? How are we to have democracy, if we are not able to criticize those in power? How? He left this world, in honor of that principle, as all the courageous journalists did. They adored him, and as his children of France, did they give their life for an ideal larger than themselves. They were the best of us, and yet we can only truly honor their deaths by honoring the principles they died for.
This is not a time for internal bickering, this is a time for unity. Unity banded together around the values that our heroes have lived and now died for.
May spirit of freedom be with all the brave journalists of Charlie Hebdo.
When Kierkegaard left this world, he had had a long relationship with his chosen bride; Regine. He loved here, with all his heart, for all that he was worth. His weird introvert understanding of things made the proces with which he addressed her, internal. It was about his own inner process, in fact not so much about the woman herself. She waited for him all her life, but had to accept, that he would not come to her.
In the process however, amazing, beautiful philosophy came out of it. Something we can still use today.
According to Kierkegaard in his work Either-Or. you live your life between the material world, the ethical world, and spirit. He kind of saw himself meeting her first on the material world, seducing her, but then after some time, he had ethical qualms about the way they behaved, and ended up trying to find forgiveness for the deed of leaving her.
In the family all three layers are present. The seduction of materialism, the ethics of solidarity and honor, and the love of G-d.
In my view, it is not a process, it is a frame around the family. We have to tackle the lure of materialism, in order to live our lives fully. It is so easy to start working too much, and stop thinking about the family, to the detriment of the unity of all who are in the family. This is the first challenge in family life; finding a balance between too much work, and time for companionship. G-d does not want us to work just to work, but to serve his creation and his ways, that is love. Read more…
Well, many may think that blogging philosophy is a fools errand, and it has no impact on the world. I stand to differ. I can see through my work, that making a positive impact on the world is possible, if you are willing to sacrifice, and have the stamina.
Going to Oxford, was a change for me. I come from this aristocrat Danish intellectual family, my forefather founded Vallekilde Højskole, the equivalent to Oxford here in Denmark, and, compared to England, things are run a little different. In Denmark, it is more dynastic, my family has been the leaders, or one of the leaders in culture in many years, including in academics.
In 68, this all changed, old dynasties were becoming outdated and Marxism was all that mattered. Well, it seems to me, that the old values of meritocracy and skill has once more entered the world of intellectualism. Because, yes my family was born with a silver spoon in their mouths and brought up with Plato and the bible, but we used to win our intellectual glory with our deeds, not because we knew someone, or had our political connections in order.
When I tried to get an intellectual career, I failed, in fact I failed miserably. Not because of lack of skill, but because in my mind connections did not matter, skill matters. I worked as an assistant in a school called CBS. Copenhagen Business School. At that time, I wrote a book so beautiful, that it changed the way business looks upon business. But this bought me only sneers and ridicule from the leaders of CBS, and they called me all kinds of things, that still ring in my ear. Two pages in the leading newspaper one of leading scholars of CBS used to smear my work. To this day, it was the death sentence of my academic career in Denmark.
Then I went on in other directions, and using my skill to counter the threat to the Islamists, using my skill to turn the downfall of the West, to try and make a comeback for the churches, for Israel, for Egypt, for the U.S., for Russia. Leaving the academic world to its own miserable and mediocre existence. Read more…
In a conflict, there are, usually three types of behaviour in a politically run state. Those who run, those who turn traitors and those who chose to stand and fight.
In a decomposing democratic order as we see it in Europe, there are more traitors than people who chose to stand and fight. As a consequence, what one needs to do to survive an onslaught as the one we are witnessing by the islamists, is a strategy to counter the many, those who wish to flee or are traitors. At the same time enabling those few who are willing to stand and fight.
In the current conflict with the islamists, we see very much the same pattern in Europe as we saw in the second world war. Except for the difference, that there are more turncoats and fewer heroes. England and Britain at large are choosing to fight, Sweden has already surrendered a long time ago. The traitors and turncoats have gained new assets as the European Union, and the liberal press. Add to this both a lingering effect of the Soviet infiltration in the cultural sphere, the secret services, and academia. We have heightened odds against us. Luckily, the enemy; the islamists are much weaker than the Nazis, so all in all the pros and cons are more or less the same as in the second world war, with the same parties on each side.
So what are the added characteristics of the traitors and the heroes. The heroes are the strong, the traitors are the weak. As a consequence we see a lot of women in the traitors camp; teachers, medical personell, the feminine part of the political arena. Make no fault, the reason why so many women are supporting the islamists, is not because they really like them, who would? But because they are traitors and weak. The same goes for the secret police. The reason why they support the islamists is not because they are curropted, yes, they are also curropted, but because they are too weak to counter the threat of the islamists who are threatening them. It is, untill now, much more easy to counter the few leaders who are opposing the islamists. So they go for us, instead of the islamists.
So what would the obvious strategical consequence of this be; to be stronger than the islamists.
The Stalingrad of the Islamists has already been concluded, it was the fall of Morsi and the Moslem Brotherhood. They are now in a much weaker position than before. They have emerged with a bid to rule Iraq, but this is, in many Islamist circles, not that popular, they think it is immature. They would have opted to wait little longer. So, in a sense, the IS, is a sign of desperation. A all on the table bid, to muster strenght and show off the colours. We forced them out in the open sooner than they had anticipated.
Already the show of strenght on our side is turning turncoats our side. After mr. Putin send a few jets of Denmark, threatening to bomb the PET into oblivion, if they did not leave me alone, (thank you very, very much mr. Putin). PET has largely remained on the waiting on my side. Next time, bomb them, they need to be tought a lesson. Read more…
Culture is not theories on paper, or ideas made in heads of philosophers. Yes, sometimes we are able to contribute a bit, but culture is the living, vibrant congregation of people. When they live somewhere are happy or sad.
When I was young, my greatest fear would be to settle down, buy a house, get a Volvo. So now I am here. I dream about a house, I have a Volvo, a little wonderful daughter.
But behind that growing need for security, there is always the sincerity of being idealistic, of being young, and believing in something.
Idealism is also about being honest about where we are, and what we do. So, I suppose it is matter of keeping the young together with old, keeping ones idealism, also after the need of security is what you start thinking of.
When I was younger I lived in this amazing place called Vesterbro. It is as vibrant as Liverpool. Full of happy, weird, strong people, who have never given up.
In the last war with the Nazis, the one place that actually did not just give in as everybody else, was my neighborhood Vesterbro. We put up barricades in each end of the main road Istedgade. And the Nazis let us, because they probably thought that that little pocket of resistance was not to bother about.
But we stood our ground at that time. We still do, and all the work I have done, is in service of that spirit. We have this saying in Vesterbro, Istedgade will never surrender.
I am a romantic. I truly believe in the strength of our culture, the fearsome, vibrating, living culture that some seem to want not alive anymore.
After I listened to his excellency bishop Welbys inspiring talk about his life at BBC, there was one song that really got me stuck and started repeating itself in my head. It is so inspiring.
Liverpool is one of those vibrating cities, according to Wellby, well if they are like their anthem, they must be something special.
Looking at the future of Europe, we need to realize the advent of the war with the IS supporters in Europe. Islamic State is very strong in Europe, and if we do not recognize this, we will not be seeing things as they are.
The people who are slaugthering innocent Christians and Yazidis in Iraq will soon do the same in Europe. How are the churches to understand that challenge? By understanding it the same way as the confrontation in Iraq and Syria. By wholeheartedly condemning and speak out against the atrocities, and support all the people who will be suffering from the attacks. Already we have seen numerous unprovoked attacks in Australia, Belgium and France. This is absurd and a crime against humanity. We cannot shirk away from recognizing these attempts on a dominating and inhuman conduct, by succumbing to political correctness.
This is not about all Muslims, a majority in the Middle East defy IS and The Muslim Brotherhood, but it is about those who put the means above the aim. We should wholeheartedly condemn all these terrible actions they do, and put ourselves at the side of the victims.
I remember when I fought for the Copts, one of the things I really found uplifting and even amazing, was the positive view of the Copts. As they faced the most dangerous and possible annihilation of their congregations, what did they do? They went out in the desert, to make a music festival. Started singing and enjoying themselves. This in face of the atrocities and the danger. Read more…
After prowling around on the Internet to find some good media sources to tell me what is going on the Anglican church, I finally found church times, which gives me a bit of an insight into the discussions in the church.
It it makes me very happy to see, that his excellency rev. Welby has started a proces to figure out a way to turn the tide of the Anglican church and reverse the development from slow implosion to fruition and growth again. In a sense the entire west hinges on this process, because without a faith that is positive, deep and truly civilizing we will die. In the competition with other faiths, we will wither and die. So in a sense this process is the most pressing and most important that we win.
They say, that a carpenter is never better than his tools. The same can be said about the clerics and their job. The tools that the intellectual philosophers and theologicans mold and make, is the tools of the vicars. So the tools is the most important things to consider. As we have discussed the advent and work with the family, we need to discuss tool like these to be strong again.
I will make it no secret, I have said it before, and I will say it again. We are fighting with our backs against the wall, with our barricades crumbling under us, with ships in need of upgrading and repair, with a country and a people in dire need of our assistance. They have only us, and we must not fail them, otherwise we will not do our duty to those we serve.
It is a very interesting project with the Anglican Church, the more I think about it, the more it makes me see possibilities instead of problems. This may be the crowning project on my career. Usually philosophers have their peak at my age. So, as a servant to spirit, I believe he put me on this world to do this kind of work I am doing; giving inspiration to those who really need a helping hand in their work for G-d. It has to be given freely, and without any constraints and political considerations, so this will be my work. To help, regardless of the pay back in any way. I would really love to come to Oxford again, I truly believe, that the succes of the project rests on a sincere and deep knowledge of the church, in order for my advice to really be precise, but I will help, to my best ability, without any compensation. Because the gift of this, warrants the purety of the work.
I have been praying a lot, to find a course after the tour to Oxford, and this image of his excellency the vicar of Canterbury keeps popping up in my prayers. So this is a sign, as I see it, for the work to come. And looking at the need, it seems to me, that the need is really there.
Looking at the issues, I think it is a good idea to lift oneself up a bit, and have a look at England in a historical context. It was an island with a magical people, then it turned into a second Rome, now it is a demoralized and sulking husk of a fallen empire, with a longing for the magic.
So we need to combine these two things, the magic and the empire. Magic is revelation and redemption, a miracle one could say. The empire is still there, and needs a turning in terms of realization.
Have a look at Rome and how it came from a political, juristical and religious empire, and ended as a purely religious empire, but with law and politics as a basic point of religion.
I have been thinking a lot about the situation in England and the advent of the Anglican Church. I believe, that the odds are stacked against the Anglicans and redemption is almost impossible, but if we stick together and make a very careful development of the basic virtues of the church, we still have a good chance of turning the tide. But, it will be extremely difficult.
First of all, you need to help me as well. If I am to really support a comeback of the Anglican Church, I need a place or an office somewhere in England, preferably Oxford, and a good connection to the local clericals. Mr. Brian Mountford, the Vicar of st. Marys could be such a person, a skilled, intelligent and good man, that I really like.
Especially in the beginning, we need to be extremely careful. The overall structure of the church is in need of repair, and we are looking at a possible breakdown of the entire church, so rocking the boat too much, might just tip the scales.
The basic challenge of the Anglican church is the very structure of the church. Englishmen prefer to be free, and this attitude creates a much more individual character of the church as such. At the other hand, if a balance is reached between freedom and cooperation, it could heal the wounds that are already there. In other words, a new structure that gives the right amount of freedom and the right amount of responsability towards the motherchurch is needed. The work however has to be done very carefully and without making any more negative feelings within the church. What the Anglican motherchurch can supply in this process, is wisdom. Create a source of new ideas and replenish the toolbox of the vicars, so that they feel that Cantebury helps and it makes sense to stay in communion.
We are entering the last two years of the presidency of mr. Barack Obama. I believe the greatest part of the first part of the tenure was the rebounding of the economy. It has been done mainly by reducing the cost of the military, while exerting influence through diplomacy. If and hopefully we wil conclude this, the Iran deal materializes, this approach has served two functions; one to regain footing economically after the two expensive wars by mr. George Bush, secondly to truly make a better impression of American power through soft power. This works, today America is much more positively looked upon than before. Thanks to mr. Obamas handling of politics.
Add to this a pro American production policy, where patriotic companies are rewarded, the US has just had a comeback as a world power. It was in decline, but mr. Barack Obama just saved the US, as promised.
So now there is time for some internal community building, and building bridges. I have an idea, that I have discussed a little with a wise scholar that I met at Oxford. He is a republican, but one that leans to the middle. He is a man of the church, and a descendant of Danes. I like him, and he likes me. So we have been discussing the pro and cons, and I introduced my idea of helping and supporting the family as a good project. We both agreed, that in order to bridge the aile, we need some positive project that both sides support. After all the violence in Ferguson, and all the negative impact this has on the peace of mind of Americans, perhaps it was time to work on something that brought people together instead of making people come away.
Now, looking at the process of the catholic church that has been through the same proces, I think it is of a vital importance not to focus too much on the gay rights issue. I like gays, they are often a persecuted minority in society, but the issue raises too much animosity between left and right, and what we need to work on now, is something we all agree about. So what about making it just better to be a family in the US? Doing all the small things that makes is eaiser to make ends meet? Looking at housing, so that a family can afford a small house, strengthening the local community, so that the families have somewhere to go in times of need. Looking at the children and pull a few strings to make them having a better school or a better opportunity to do work for the local elderly. Make possible for the grandparents to help their grandsons and granddaughter. Make room for love in the close connection between man, woman, child, grandparent, sibling, cousin, aunt.
This will not only strengthen the families, but also, in the long run, strenghten America as a community itself, not to mention perhaps healing some of the rifts that has come inbetween the Republicans and the Catholic church.
I have a feeling, that many Jews are genuinly worried, that I am not truly a Jew, that I am only a soul Jew or whatever you call it. Come on, would I have defended Israel and all the Jews here in Europe, if it had not been for my Jewish history?
I will tell you where it comes from. My great grandmother on my mothers side was a refugee in Denmark, she was ferried over the small strait of Oeresund in the wake of all the Jewish persecutions in 1943. She was fleeing because she had helped Jews out of Germany, and was very vocal in the defence of Jews here in Denmark.
Her daughter Rigmor was her favourite daughter, and Rigmors daughter Sigrid, my mother was the favourite daughter of Rigmor. So the defence of Jews went from daughter to daughter in three or four generations.
This is why I care about Jews and Israel. Whenever I meet Jews who want to have some money from me, because of this or that, who are arrogant, because of this of and that. This image of my grandmother fleeing the Nazi persecution stands in my mind.
You are my family, and it has nothing to do with politics or ambition on my side. I simply chose to stand and support the Jews, because this is what my grandmother, and great grandmother did in the same situation.
I have this ability, that to scientific inquiry is hard to falsify. But I can always feel what people feel. Especially when it is some feeling they have of me. A kind of a sixth sense in a way. I use it very much in politics to get an indication of the impact I have when I write something. I have noticed, that all Jews have this sixth sense. It manifests itself in the ongoing feuds Jews have with enemies of the Jewish people or Israel. Jews generally are a very intuitive people. We use our sense of people around us to navigate.
If we then zoom in on Islam, I think we need to make a difference between Islam in a democracy, and Islam in general.
In a democracy, there are the basic rules, that all should respect; the rule of the law, and the rule of free speech, and hence free debate as the underpinning of the democratic lawgiving.
So, in consequence Islamists, that is is Muslims who do not respect democracy in a democracy are enemies. Muslims who do respect democracy are absolutely welcome, and should be given all the respect due as citizens.
If we look a the Middle East however, we cannot demand democracy from Muslims there, we can hope they will accept it, but we cannot demand it.
In the Middle East, we also have the peace project, that is beyond the democratic conflicts we have in Europe. Here it is about the peace Inbetween religion. This project is beyond politics, and has to do with a spiritual quest in the interest of G-d.
Looking a bit back on the trip to Oxford, and trying to wrap up the progress I believe I have done in relation to understanding England and thereafter try to make a plan to go ahead from here, I believe that there are a few points to consider.
I have had a pretty good influence already through EDL, but somehow Tommy Robinson seems to have lost a little steam, let us hope he will be back in business when he has caught his breath. It is a hell of a job to be a hero, no one pays you, and you live like a fugitive, but that is the business of heroism these days, you need to be strong and pay whatever it costs.
Anyway. To move forward, I think it wise to find a true balance between the different perspectives. The redemption lies in, at one hand, to strengthen traditional English values, and at the other hand to fight the true enemies of England.
Again, we should be careful. Just starting fighting in a simple way, would be wrong, and put us in the same position as our enemies. We need to keep our own values as humanism and democracy.
We also have to be honest about multiculturalism. Multiculturalism is ok, as long as it does not impede the very basis of the state. You cannot, what I think is quite obvious these days, be tolerant towards evil and intolerant nihilists, who believe that pulling us all the way back to the sixth century is some kind of blessing on the human race. It is ridiculous. There are limits to multiculturalism, and it is exactly where the limits of the state is. That is the justice of the law, and the freedom of democracy.
If we look at these two things, we realize, that they are, in themselves cultural entities. It is something of our own culture here in the West we hold dear, and believe is worthwhile. You can have other ways of running things as the caliphate or the rule of the strong, but this is the way we believe things should be run.
So in relation to our states the very idea of multiculturalism breaks down.
What should we put instead, well that is pretty obvious I think, exactly that; democracy and the justice of law. These values are universal in a western style democracy, and we do not compromise on the these values. If you do not like it, well, you are very welcome to go away. We like it this way, and we do not compromise. But if you like these values, you are welcome, and you can find a place, if you can pay for yourself, and contribute positively to the common wealth.
We need a base to make where the boundaries of the state are, and what we can tolerate.
It is a bit like living in a house together, there has to be some rules in order to make the house work. No, you cannot rape my daughter on the staircase, no you cannot make you own rules in the basement, no you cannot steal my newspaper from my doormat. There are certain rules everybody has to obey in order to make the house work.
Add to this an emphasis on the traditional English culture. Not necessarily to force immigrants to have the same rules as the English, but because English culture is worth as much as any other culture. And only with an equal footing may we live in peace.
When I went to Oxford, I did it as a representative of Denmark. Most know, that Denmark has a very harsh and confrontation discussion on religion, and especially Islam. We have been in the forefront when it comes to discuss the conflict between the West and the East.
Some of the theoretical distinctions that I have coined, as a representative of the philosophical discourse here in Denmark, has been accepted worldwide, as the distinction between political Islam and humanistic Islam. The West fighting the first, and supporting the second.
So what was really the outcome of the conference? Did we get somewhere?
Well, there was a huge interest in Islamic ideas and teaching at the conference. We were presented to a variety of very interesting ideas. There was the critical approach, the political approach by Malaysia, the Sufis and their spirituality, modern day challenges in Malaysia. All in all a variety of positive and possibly bridge building initiatives.
I personally got the best connection to a Saudi doctor, whom I discussed a bit about my proof of G-d, and he seemed genuinely interested. I felt an opening there, and I have already received a mail back from him, that I got in response from one I send to him.
So the bridge building is already starting, and I sincerely hope, that it will truly continue.
This is absolutely groundbreaking. Because one thing is to make huge diplomatic conferences, another thing is the personal connection you get to someone who seems a bit like yourself, that is truly friendship, and it is though genuine friendship that things evolve.
So, all in all I hope and believe, that some first tentative steps have been taken, that will perhaps be taken further and create a dialogue of peace.
Boris Johnson is a terrific writer and a keen analyzer of historical events. This is the impression I get from reading his magnificent biography/hagiography of mr. Winston Churchill. It is just a fast read, and I believe you get a good interpretation of mr. Churchills character and working method. The question is; what can we really learn from Churchill these days? What was it that gave him his reputation as the best politician of the 20’th century?
Today most people just know him from images and a hazy idea about his fight in the second world war against the nazis, which he won. But who was he really? You can know about a man if you know his friends, because the friends mirror a quality of the man. So who were his friends? The best friend he had, was of cause his wife, Clementine, and I believe a great deal can be said about Churchill if you know his wife, in fact a man is only truly a complete person if he really loves.
Clementine was a true liberal, she adored art, she had nothing against gays, she was in many ways the soft part of Churchill. Giving him a human understanding that I believe is not truly understood today. As when he fought in the second world war, he became agressive and sometimes comandeering on everybody, what you off cause can understand if you know the stress he was under. But she pulled out the soft in him.
I believe this is really the true story about Churchill, he managed to combine conservatism with liberalism, not only in politics, but all the way in his own most trusted circle, him and his wife. He was the genius, the orator, the shining knight on the white horse, but she was the princess with a soft heart and a strong will for those who have little. This really is the mark of a great man; to be able to win and after that hold on to the love of a great woman.
In politics this was reflected in his care for workers, his acceptance of both Jews and gays. His friendship with T.S. Lawrence, his love of painting. At the other hand it was reflected in his valorous fight for the colours of the United Kingdom, he never gave up, even after everybody else did. His ethical stance to the world, his aristocratic manners, his friendship with the house of Windsor.
Add to this a true heart for what was right and wrong, you have your person to truly admire.
He used his understanding of conservatism and liberalism to really follow the course he thought was the right course. It was not about the money or fame, yes that mattered as well, but the ethical core, what he truly believed in, was what truly mattered.
So he put ideals over career.
This is a lesson we can learn from with all the challenges we meet in Europe and generally in the West and East. To see the challenges not in the rearmirror, but as they truly are, and then find solutions to the problems we face, unconventially, but with the basic virtues of our democratic, humanistic states as the guiding stars.
We have Churchill no more, we have non of his quorrelous, annoying, far too skilled views anymore, you only have persons like me or Boris Johnson. But you will have to do with us, and only if you are strong and courageous enough will we live up to that example set by mr. Churchill.
The European nations and the United States of America is seeking to forge a so-called peace solution in and around Gaza. First of all, the very premise the so-called peace solution is made on, is the premise, that Israel is the aggressor, and the Gazans are the victims.
Come on, after all the manipulation of western media and political systems, after using their own children as cannon fodder, after attacking innocent Jews in synagogues, the Palestinians are victims?
Gaza is and will always be a proxy for the different enemies of Israel, and only if you make peace with these enemies will the conflict in Gaza stop. As with the Arab nations and Iran.
If we use all our sparse political capital on the Palestinians, how are we supposed to use it on other problems and difficulties?
Then taking Hamas of the terrorlist is just another step, that makes at least Europeans look like fools. Everybody in the Middle East knows, that they are as far from democracy as you can possibly get, and yes, they are terrorists.
There is this wonderful cinematic movie, that really describes the fallacy of Western imperialism, but also the twist of it. In the film Avatar western backed military tries to destroy an ancient civilization with no understanding of the culture it meets. The mechanical firepower is so devastating that the poor Avatars with their bows and arrows cannot defend themselves. At the same time a western warrior is accepted in the midst of the tribe, but off cause with reservation. He gains an insight into the tribal culture and manages to understand it on its own terms, and begin to see the beauty of it.
This story is a reflection of T.S. Lawrence and his deep understanding, and consecutive embedding into the Arab culture. He truly understood the Middle East on its own premises.
But all to no avail, when the Arabs had won their freedom, with the help of Lawrence, they were betrayed by the colonial forces anyway.
This is the experience the Middle East has of the West. Some truly understands them, others do not, and are just elephants in the boutique of drinking glasses.
So, they like and respect our learning, but they have the experience that learning and power seldom goes hand in hand with us.
So, how do they look upon the Middle East project that is launched by the EU right now, recognizing Hamas. Is that the mechanized brute, or the learned scholar speaking of the West?
These days there is a movement against a classical neo caliphate ideology presented by such organizations as the IS. It is the whole package of 6 century Islam with beheadings, holy war and a political order by the sword and the Koran. At the other hand there is the humanistic trend by such states as Malaysia, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, among others. This trend focuses on the deeper level of religion and tries to truly connect to G-d as it or he is.
It is a matter of preference, but honestly it is also a matter of war or peace.
When I was a Oxford at the peace building convention, I was truly positively surprised to learn of the sufis and all the humanistic ideals of Islam still thriving and underpinning states. I believe, that if we are ever to have peace in the world, we need to support those who wish to build bridges, and fight those who seek uncompromising war.
These days where the caliphatists are moving in on us, as we saw in Sydney and Belgium, we need to try and discern between the two trends within Islam. Some hates our guts, some loves us. This is truly realized in the betterment the Arab world tries to get with Israel, because Israel represent the true ideal of love and peace.
Iran is trying to reach an understanding on its own terms, and is actually moving onto the path of peace. It is just we as Jews who refuse to see it. I recognize, that there is a threat, but you should also recognize the opportunity. It is exactly the same movement we see in the Sunni Muslim world, that is happening in the Shia Muslim world.
Peace requires understanding and dialogue. If we are not able to do this, as we fight those who are willing to sacrifice themselves for an archaic idea, we do not balance things off.
But, the humanistic ideas, originating from the Middle East, is also a part of the bright and creative part of the world.
T.S. Lawrence said that the desert is littered with broken ideologies, and only the best and most potent reaches the rest of the world. Well, this is a testimony to the fact, that the Middle East is very fluctuating, so why are we prone to come down on the same perspective on Iran all the time? Things change, and it is only if we seize the moment, that we will truly follow these new trends.
There is nothing wrong in Israel entering into the plethora of ideas churning around in the Middle East, in a sense, this is really what we were deprived of in the long banishment from the Middle East. But only if we truly latch on to the new trends, will we truly be Israel; embedded in the Middle East, for good or bad.
I am so inspired by my trip to Oxford, so new ideas just keep popping up in my head. At the return back, I picked up this wonderful book by mr. Boris Johnson, a great read about Winston Churchill and all what he did to the world. It really is a telling tale, and sheds light on all the occurrences of the last century, since Churchill was one of the main actors. And being a blast of a book, it makes it even more enriching, lucky me, thank you Boris.
England is in deep trouble right now; the material basis is getting a little better, but is still far from perfect, the intellectual world is still in tatters after the second world war and the loss of the empire. The Anglican Church is in a deep need of refueling with new ideas. So, that is why, I suppose England invited me to Oxford.
Well, I have been thinking a lot about it, and there is a slight danger, that I really miss the point, because England is such an ancient place, and is in itself apocryphical. You have to be there to really understand what it is all about. You can read a lot, but you have to talk to people really understand what is going on. So, as my landlord said, when I went away, and he recommended the Turf for my last visit; you will be back. I really hope I will. It is not about the money or the honor, basically I can do without it, it is about the intellectual vibe and mystery. It is so inspiring to walk the same path as J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, T.E. Lawrence, it blows my absolutely much too fertile imagination and creative fireworks of a puny brain. So I will be back.
Anyway, there is a reason why I came home and met the accusation of complicity to murder here in Denmark, and I do see it reflected in Churchill and his ideas. The moral compass, and the encyclopedic knowledge he had, made him draw conclusions that, in the time seemed strange, but in time proved to be true. As he knew the Narzies for what they were, or Stalin and his savage Communism. In his days he was either someone you hated or loved, but there is no discussion that he was ahead of his time, a prophet, an oracle. It comes down to inspiration and knowledge, a hyper wired brain, and basically a humanistic core.
Some of the problems Great Britain has now, is due to its humanistic culture, in fact all the loss of power over all the colonies and all the former territories is due to the fact, that the rulers of these areas did not wish to be too harsh. Take Winston Churchill, the man that basically managed the decline of the empire, how was he? Well he was a kind man basically, and he fought for the positive values of Great Britain, freedom, freedom of speech, law, independence. When you truly believe these ideas, being a colonial ruler is very difficult, because you do not have the impetus to really use the force necessary to quell resistance, and in a way Mahatma Ghandi is a product of this. He used the humanistic core of Great Britain to tear India away from England.
At the same time, this basic decency, is also the strength of Great Britain, because everybody still do respect the opinions of the English. Churchill was also an example of this, his moral example and will was truly why he was so decisive in his mediation in the world affairs.
I think this lesson was a bit lost on the post empirical generations. The aftermath of the second world war called for implosion and demoralization. The loss was too great to really cope with, and there seemed no path to take after the loss. Well, there is another interesting example of colonies and imperialism that could reflect the solution too England. The Phoenicians had a truly magnificient colony; Carthage. It fostered illuminaries as Zeno and Hannibal the great. Long after the colony of Carthage had gained indepence from Phoenicia, it retained good contacts, and they created a kind of common wealth; sharing of ideas and sharing of ressources, but on an independent basis.
The same is the fact today; the sharing of ideas, the cooperation between armies and so on. England has the edge, that it is the oldest or, perhaps as not really true, because originally England was a Danish colony. But in the realm of the empire, England is the oldest member, and therefor has the deepest intellectual understanding of matters.
This preemince of the commonwealth, is there already, so why the depression? England has the opportunity to thrive among its former colonies, taking not a material lead, but an intellectual lead.
In these days, where the internet broadcasts all ideas easily, it can reach all those who listen.
G-d bless England, the land of the fairies and the trolls of the great writers.
A month ago, I had this amazing encounter with a Swedish artist with the name Dan Park. As I have a name that draws me closer to England, Dan has a name that draws him closer to Denmark. The encounter in a way reflects back on my stay in Oxford, and I believe has a lesson that is important for the people of England, and of cause the people of Sweden. Dan is a street artist, and makes these horrendous little pieces of art, that kick the establishment in a certian part. Everybody have decided to hate him, but nobody cared to really try and understand his points. But, to his luck, he had the opportunity to present his criticism on the Swedish society in Denmark, and Swedes could then actually hear what he was intending. Mind you, he is radical, but there is absolutely no blood and honour in him, he as thin as a stick, and has long rufled hair.
What really felt relieving and also emancipating was when he said; quote from memory; things are going really bad, but what then or “vad da?”. Point is, what happens after we run the line from multiculturalism? Where are we actually heading? What is the plan really? Sometimes utterances become kind of metaphysical in its content, because this was the question no one has dared to ask in Sweden. Vad da?
The same question England has to ask, what happens after the we have run out of line, and multiculturalism is at the end of the dead line. Then what?
It is not about race, it is not about the opression of minorities, but it is basically the question about the identity and values of the indeginous European tribes. I mean, seen from a humanistic point of view, why are we to shed all the culture that is thousands years old? Why? Is it not something worth preserving?
I suppose martyrdom is a sign of a philosophy that is truly changing the world. I have fought for the freedom of my people, I have fought for soul of my people, I have fought like dervish for G-d, in order for him to regain some of the glory he has lost.
My main antagonists these days are not the Muslims anymore, many actually find my lamenting and fight inspiring and are devout on the same premises as I. But oh, to no gain in the eye of the corrupted Danish system.
Now what, after I returned from the wonderful tour to Oxford, I picked up a letter from the government. It simply said, in the crooked words of the state. We accuse you for murder. We think that you were related in a murder some time two years ago, therefor we tapped your phone. Ok, now that is the game? So now I am a murderer in disguise? What exactly is there of evidence of this supposed crime; nothing. There is no evidence, just the accusation.
So put me on trial, for heavens sake. Let the world know about your heinous crimes, how you have killed my mother, destroyed my family, tortured my daughter. Let them hear about that, I invite you put me on trial, so that the world will know, what a corrupt society Denmark truly is. Let the philosopher have justice!
But you will not, you craven cowards, you will only insinuate, send little letters with no prove, just try to nip at my character. You fools, and descrepite subhumans, you evil kin, you Satans. There is only darkness in your blood, only lust for war and destruction, no appetite for dialogue or compromise. Just that; the seeping evil, that goes on everywhere in these modern digitalized states. They know everything, where you are, what you do, who you talk to, even what you write on your computer.
But listen, evil stands in no good fortune to good, because everything I do is transparent. I have nothing to hide, I stand judged by my words. Everybody are able to look at them, read them as they wish, there is absolutely nothing hidden. I have no schemes going on, no hidden agenda, I stand by words. And in this I am not evil, or in any way manipulating.
Look at that you craven cowards. Perhaps it was time you yourself came out in the open, and stood judged by your own misgivings? Just perhaps it is time for the world to judge you. So begin that prosecution please, let the world see what you have of prove, or disappear like the craven, disgusting STASI goons you are.
